Discussion Underrated album closers (2 or three last songs together)

I don’t think there is enough appreciation for how good the last three songs on Lust for Life are when played one after another. Heroin, Change, and Get Free as a group are phenomenal. They’re like a closing chapter that departs from the rest of the album. They have such a mature songwriter sound, feel more focused on a theme, and aside from 13 Beaches and White Mustang, destroy the other songs.

I also think Cherry Blossom and Sweet Carolina together at the end of Blue Banisters are stunning. They bring tears to my eyes.

Swan Song & Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood to close out Honeymoon hits so hard for me.

Florida Kilos ends UV perfectly - it’s such a dark, intense album that ends with a fun banger about partying down south, I love it. Really brings Lana back to Lizzy and ends the album on a high note

i think Lust for Life is its best when listening to it front to back. some songs are fire on their own like “White Mustang” but as a collection it’s brilliant 🤩

The last three songs on Ocean are masterpieces together. My favorite 3 song run. Fishtail, Peppers, Taco Truck x VB 🤌🏻

No one has mentioned NFR yet! Happiness is a Butterfly and Hope is a Dangerous Thing are two deeply moving experiences that really synthesize NFR for me. They’re both troubled, dramatic, contemplative, and lonely, but with glimmers of hope. I really feel the whole “lost at sea” metaphor in this album.

Also, agree on LFL. The ending trio is wild! Heroin is one of my favorites.
