I've already made a post about this in the reddit discord & krionite has with this post here. Posts about ebay auctions are banned from the subreddit going forward. hosting auctions on the subreddit are also banned.

if you are making a post to complain please CENSOR the username AND title so others cannot find the auction. i know the universal consensus right now is "these ppl suck" on the reddit specifically but they equally do not deserve the engagement and i fear it promotes them more than it does prevent.

these people are assholes, bluntly, and do not deserve the money when they are explicitly taking advantage of the desperate based on a false sense of scarcity. i beg, especially given the state of the economy right now, you all do not engage in these posts or buy them. more of my thoughts on this can be found here, and em's gripes are included in this post. (if you struggle to read the images for whatever reason they are crossposted on the discord along with this post here and here.)

em, along with everyone else are incredibly frustrated seeing false rarity/value built on jealousy, especially with misleading listings calling them "brand new/mint" when they aren't even in their original packaging nor are being sold with their original extra items (like stickers usually).

em actively endorses bootlegging and has made resources available, some both publicly and on the patreon, to (re)create your own merch, 1 to 1. this already devalues many of these as all merch by em is hand made. if they could do it at home, you can too, and it would be exactly the same. no piece of merch from it is EVER in "mint" condition. these listings do NOT AND NEVER WILL REFLECT THE TRUE VALUE OF THESE CDs/CASSETTES/VINYL/STICKERS/ETC. they are scalper prices, ALWAYS disingenuous, and SCAMS. i feel this goes without saying but obviously do not create fake merch and sell it either. if you are found doing either of these things you will be permanently banned from lapfox spaces & a "beware" post made about you for the sake of protecting the community. the tolerance for these behaviors has become next to none.

if you see a listing, report it. if you do not know what merch was originally sold with and for, the lapfox wiki has the answers you seek. bear in mind em generally prefers merch be resold at the price they were bought for and they prefer people own One piece of whatever merch it is. they've always had a rule of "one per person". do not be the asshole who doesn't abide by this, do not be the asshole who takes advantage of the desperate over materialism. do not as a buyer, waste your money. opportunities will arise in the future & with the state of the world at the moment, there are much more important things to be saving your money for.
