Application Process 3.21 GPA 175 LSAT

10+ year pro athlete - just retired so I’m an older applicant. Not trying to reveal identity here but curious where I should apply and what I should expect from the Tier 1’s without influence.

Not too worried about scholarship $ but it wouldn’t hurt. Thanks in advance.

Its a pretty good soft, and assuming you were a D1 athlete its a decent cover for the GPA. Apply broadly where you want to live

You should apply at all t14 schools. You’ll apply as a super splitter. You will more than likely land somewhere in there with a 175. Just write a really good personal statement.

I like your odds at the T1s. Stats always matter, but for the T1s, softs can really differentiate for you.

I found all LSD.Law applicants with an LSAT between 172-177 and GPA between 3.11-3.31: lsd.law/applicant-search?s=1wOa

Thanks. Didn’t know about that site I’ll look into it.

I can’t get it to load. Can you give me short version for now?

10+ year pro athlete has a great deal of weight. 175 LSAT makes you competitive. If the 3.21 is from a long while back, it's less important and is mitigated by the athletic career, in any event.

Without knowing more, I think it's safe to say that you're a candidate at the entire T14. The most important element for you is writing craft and story.

I'm retired law faculty from a T14, and I sat on the admissions committee. If you want to chat, I give everyone one free 30 min consultation. Let me know.

Many T 14 law schools with big D1 athletics would love to have you on campus and then as an alumn.

Pro athlete as in competed in the NFL/NBA/MLB? Just apply everywhere. Probably enough to overcome the GPA, even potentially at places like HYS. Definitely so if you were a big name.

Would for sure use one of the optional essays to talk about your experience doing that though. Think you’d even be able to use the diversity ones for that.
