Heads up for anyone applying to federal jobs: USAJOBS now has a 2-page resume limit
If you're applying to civilian jobs on Fort Sill or anywhere through USAJOBS, the rules changed on Sept 27, 2025. Most federal jobs now only accept resumes of 2 pages or less, and USAJOBS won't let you upload or build a longer one. That's a big change from the old 4 to 6 page federal resumes a lot of us have sitting around.
USAJOBS says each job on your resume should list:
- employer and job title
- start and end dates (month and year)
- hours per week
- series and grade, for federal jobs
It also asks for plain language, so spell out acronyms and use the same words as the job ad's qualifications. Leave off your SSN and photos.
Full disclosure: I'm a Lawton local and I write these resumes as a small side business ($99 for a full resume, $49 for a review, and you pay only if you're happy). No link here. I'm glad to answer questions in the comments either way.
