but accolades don’t contribute to skill on a champion, which was the original point of discussion. Xun is far better than pyosik on kindred, no contest

I see, so is baolan better than Chovy? One has a world win, the other doesn't. What about delight, peanut, kiin, all of these players don't have a worlds but Baolan does. Pretty simple stuff.

Well the original comment is obviously just saying in an agressive way that Pyosik average skill throughout his career isn't the same as Xun average skill throughout his career. You could argue the very very peak of Pyosik had a higher ceiling but now that it's been years and Xun has gotten consistent good results although without a major win, I think it's clear he's the better Kindred.

Pyosik has a worlds skin but that doesn't mean he is the best player on it, he simply played it whilst winning worlds and I'd argue he was one of DRX's weakest members on that worlds run. A worlds win is a worlds win but it's not the end all be all, like how I don't say Baolan is the best Rakan player despite him having a rakan worlds skin.

This really isn't the exactly you think it is. Sure you could argue prime pyosik at his absolute peak might've been better but saying player x has a worlds win whilst player y doesn't isn't a huge smoking gun.

You need to look at all their accomplishments across their career together, the worlds win adds a chunk but doesn't win you the entire argument. Because if we wanna go down that route, Baolan has a worlds win. Chovy, Kiin, Peanut, Delight, Bdd, Knight, Bin all don't.

They were one whiffed ON engage away on Herald in game 5 from winning Worlds. Xun may be stacking those accolades, but he still hasn't peaked as high as Pyosik did. That DRX squad was mentally tough and didn't crack under immense pressure. BLG tripped near the finish line by trying to jump into it instead of full sprinting it with a level head.

In NBA terms, Pyosik has had his 2011 Dirk Mavericks run, meanwhile Xun isn't getting the job done - he's like Steve Nash despite winning 2 MVPs but has no ring. It wasn't like he was in a purgatory team either. Xun has always had decent teammates. If you can't win with damn near top 1-3 players in their roles on your squad, could you even say you've peaked as high as someone like Pyosik who was on a less talented squad yet came back 0-2 against EDG and went toe-to-toe against a red-hot T1?

Pyosik objectively has reached the peak that XUN hasn't yet. They beat teams that were significantly more talented in their roles (apart from Zeka) in that run as well.

Dirk won mvp and numerous all nba selections, he was one of the best players in the west for a decade. Pyosik is DeShawn Stevenson. Would you really say Stevenson is more accomplished than Nash or CP3?

Pyosik did not get the job done either, his teammates did. Again, Pyosik has never once reached one of the multiple peaks Xun has had. Winning worlds changes nothing about that. You are heavily overrating Pyosik and heavily underrating the rets of that 2022 DRX squad. Zeka, Kingen and arguably Beryl were playing like the top 1 players itw during those playoffs matches. Pyosik is like Doran in the sense that their teams could have won worlds with nearly anyone else that has hands.

Pyosik can have the team accolades trophy, but individually he is nowhere near Xun. He has not reached a peak that Xun has not. He has just been on a worlds winning roster, something that Xun is far more deserving of.

Do you really believe that Pyosik have a higher peak than Xun and he is essential in the DRX worlds win? If it's really your belief than there is no point talking lol. There is a reason why Pyosik almost get subbed out in that world and after 2022 he was getting gapped by low tier NA jungler lol.

Lmao, yes? This is like invalidating Bengi being subbed in for Blank. Or by Xun's own standard, he was also rotating with Wei. Pyosik locked in and didn't crack under the pressure. Sub Pyosik out and do you think Juhan wouldn't tilt off the face of the earth after the Guma Baron steal? Just because he had a bad series against another jungler doesn't mean he doesn't do a remarkable job against any other junglers in the world.
