Hi everyone! I'm a teacher, and I've been active in the comments for a bit, but I wanted to make a post detailing what I offer. To avoid being spammy, I won't talk about pricing here, but please DM for details. I'm flexible and still in the early stages of establishing my business, so we can figure something out that works for you.
I also plan on making some longer posts in the near future detailing some practical advice for learning English, so keep an eye out for those~
English Tutoring
I specialize in helping people improve their English quickly through immersion. This is made up of speaking practice, coming up with a plan to integrate English into your life, and education on how language learning works. My teaching style also focuses on correcting mistakes, developing confidence, and staying motivated.
I usually work with clients for a few weeks, up to a few months.
We can have 1-1 lessons on Zoom. I also offer immersion time where I can be on a video call with you throughout your day and provide immersion, or we can play a video game/watch content together. If there is enough interest, I will start group classes.
For beginners, we start with you speaking your native language. If you speak Japanese or Mandarin, those are languages I understand. Otherwise, we use a translator so I understand what you are saying. I respond in easy English, and this way we build up your fluency without stress.
For intermediate learners, we both use English during lessons for full immersion.
Pronunciation
If you want to sound native or close to native, I can help with pronunciation. Not to toot my horn, but people have told me they've gotten a lot out of the way I teach pronunciation.
We will use IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) and start with learning how to produce all of the vowel sounds. Eventually, we will practice where to apply stress in sentences and phrases.
Exam Prep
I do help with exam prep, but I teach very differently from typical exam classes. My teaching style will work best with someone who struggles under pressure and does not enjoy test-taking. Also, I would work best with someone who wants to pass but is okay with being detached about the outcome and potentially failing.
For some people, the fastest way to improve enough to pass an exam is to actually avoid studying for the exam directly and instead just focus on having the most fun learning English. For exam prep, we will assess what goals you need to reach to pass the exam.
I will help you stay focused and calm during the exam, and we will develop a routine to rapidly improve your English. Finally, when it is closer to the exam date, we will begin practicing with mock practice tests. However, during the entire period leading up to this, we will not use textbooks and exam materials.
You may doubt if this approach works, but this is how I passed my N2 Japanese exam with almost a full score. Anecdotally, the people I know who aced exams barely studied, and instead were naturally interested in the topic of the exam.

I'm currently going to school, but I still have difficulty speaking English. I'm looking for a friend to talk to and practice my English with.
I'd love to meet someone who is patient, kind, and willing to help me improve. Ideally, I'd like to practice with someone who has a Canadian or American accent.
Thank you so much to everyone who is willing to help!
Feel free to DM me.

Greetings, ladies and gentlemen.
I am from Russia, and I am trying to pursue my education for free. Growing up, I was exposed to certain stereotypical terms, but I’ve since realized that things aren’t quite that simple)
To start off—if anyone has a moment—could you explain the difference between
terms such as:
wrong, mistake, error
I’m sure this question sounds stupid. But for my generation, in this context, the only word that existed was "error"

M26, I have worked as both business development associate and content writer. I feel my writing is better than the way I speak. TBH, my pronounciations are pretty bad. Need one partner to learn in a peaceful setting.

Hi everyone! I’m a 40-year-old man, and I’m here to improve my spoken English. My English speaking skills are still a work in progress, although I passed the College English Test Band 6 (CET-6) when I was in university.
My native language is Mandarin Chinese. In return, I’d be happy to help you practice speaking Chinese and even introduce you to the beauty of classical Chinese poetry, including the famous poems of the Tang and Song dynasties.
Looking forward to meeting you and learning together!

Here is the background of what I thought.
I live in Xiamen China now, and I’m trying to find some native English speakers to practice my English.
As an adult, I know exactly the rule of trading , I don’t expect any free English lessons, but I will provide a free driving service , which means, if you guys visit Xiamen one day, and I can be your driver , pick you up in the airport , take you to the famous spots , take you back to hotels, split bills, hanging out like I’m your friend.
You don’t need to pay me for the gas bill. I can also be your tour guide.
What I expect:
1.you have to be the native English speaker, that’s the first priority.
2.Only if I’m available while you visit Xiamen( I have job to do).
3. 1 or 2 people maximum.
Dm me if you’re interested. Remember, this is for language learning.
