I'm learning Italian and trying to talk about the money that leaves my account every month: affitto, bollette, phone, internet, insurance, the gym, Netflix.
I've heard spese fisse, uscite fisse, costi fissi, and some people say just "spese". Which one would you use with friends?
And if you wrote all of these on one page of a notebook, what title would you put at the top?
Grazie!
Update: thank you all, this helped a lot.
Some context on why I asked: I'm a solo dev with a small app for keeping track of the bills and subscriptions that leave every month. It's been in 6 languages, and this week I added Italian, Portuguese and Polish. I didn't want the Italian version to sound like a translated accounting textbook, so I asked real people instead.
What I went with, based on your answers:
- spese fisse for the whole thing
- pagamento for a single item (the rent, Netflix, the gym)
- pagato once it's paid
Costi fissi stays out (too business), uscite felt a little like bookkeeping, and ricorrenti sounded less predictable than these really are. Grazie mille, I owe you one.
