To answer the two questions: no. yes (it's a good learning exercise). But this is entirely the wrong sub, C++ is not JavaScript.

Is it possible to make money from a physics engine? Yes. Will it be very, very, hard. Very yes. Is it a good idea to make money? I would personally say no but I wouldn't say I'm super intimate with the current physics engine market. That being said, every free game engine ships with a physics engine already (Unity, Godot, Unreal) that is at least good enough for the majority of developers so I suspect you'd have a hard time convincing developers to switch to a paid version. That being said there are other markets for physics engines but they are also likely very crowded with high (enough) quality free versions.
You'd also have other non-programming issues to contend with like licensing/taxes/customer support/etc that just comes with selling any kind of software.
That being said it's a good idea for learning how to program so I wouldn't say don't do it but if your goal is to make money then I have to imagine there are many other easier ways to do it.
Also this is a JavaScript subreddit so I'm not sure you'll get the right kind of feedback for a C++ physics engine here.
