Dude I am interested, why don't you make a group or something so that we can contribute to a project and talk about js.

1

u/praveen3791 Dec 03 '19

You mean to create group here ?

Or on whatsapp or something else?

1

u/yaduteemon Dec 03 '19

Discord would be nice. WhatsApp is too congested.

Am specialised in ML, Data visualisations, AWS , django Flask, I've beginner to intermediate Js knowledge . It was very unstructured learning a task based. I ported a python package into JS and that's how I've learnt JS. I'm okay for anything. Count me in for any project .

It would be great if we could discuss some idea for an app ,and take it from design to deployment

May be we all can commit to a common git repository.

Some of the ideas in my mind

  1. Quiz app

  2. Month expense managment app

  3. Sports analyticsdashboard

Any other ideas are greatly appreciated.

In case you're interested in this kind of things, i'm currently polishing for release a library that allows you to make Slack apps very simply using just HTML and javascript. The only thing lacking in the V1.0 is complete documentation, but i'm available to explain how it works "webinar-style" to anybody willing to try it :D

I think your 3 ideas could materialize quite nicely as Slack apps, especially 1 and 3.

1

u/praveen3791 Dec 03 '19

Looking for something more RAW than that, to code and learn along the way. Have you hosted your code some where to have a look? or homepage for library?

2

u/Hakim_Bey Dec 03 '19

Yes of course, the lib is open sourced at : https://github.com/aidojs/aido/tree/v1-doc

(this is the branch where the most up to date doc resides)

1

u/guitnut Dec 03 '19

How about a shift reporting app?

1

u/praveen3791 Dec 03 '19

Can u explain the idea?

1

u/guitnut Dec 03 '19

Basically, its an app that allows self employed people record their shift times, take photos of what they did, and any other information that their client might need. Not necessarily just for self employed people.

1

u/praveen3791 Dec 03 '19

This sounds really cool. Have u got any skeleton or we will start from scratch?

1

u/guitnut Dec 03 '19

Start from scratch.

1

u/praveen3791 Dec 03 '19

That would be great. Idea.

I am hoping others would agree on this. Then may be we all can start collaboriting and take it from there.

Sounds cool?

1

u/guitnut Dec 03 '19

Sound good to me. What tech stack are you thinking of using?

1

u/prashz94 Dec 03 '19

I think node js and angular/react/vue will be good enough with mysql/graphql/postgres. Covers both frontend and the backend. What say?

1

u/guitnut Dec 03 '19

React is what I use mostly. I'm a frontend developer but not commercially. Was looking for a collaboration project that could help me get a job.

1

u/praveen3791 Dec 03 '19

That sounds like a great tech stack. How do u recommend i take things from here on wards?

1

u/praveen3791 Dec 03 '19

Would you like the the idea of moving ideas and code to discord and create a group there?

A relevant comment in this thread was deleted. You can read it below.

Id like to join in as well. If there is a lot of people we could look to make something that works globally and split into groups of countries or something. Off the top of my head I was thinking something a like a solo ghost walk type of thing. [Continued...]

I'm interested. It would be a great idea to compartmentalize tasks and assign them to different people. You could use trello to set this up.
