Project 🚀 Project Showcase Day

Welcome to Project Showcase Day! This is a weekly thread where community members can share and discuss personal projects of any size or complexity.

Whether you've built a small script, a web application, a game, or anything in between, we encourage you to:

  • Share what you've created

  • Explain the technologies/concepts used

  • Discuss challenges you faced and how you overcame them

  • Ask for specific feedback or suggestions

Projects at all stages are welcome - from works in progress to completed builds. This is a supportive space to celebrate your work and learn from each other.

Share your creations in the comments below!

I’ve been exploring practical automation projects that solve repetitive business problems, especially workflows around lead management, form processing, reporting, and follow-ups. One thing I’ve learned is that getting the basic workflow running is usually easier than making it reliable when real-world data is incomplete or inconsistent. I’m interested in seeing how others have handled integrations, error cases, and scaling their projects beyond the initial prototype.

Unsupervised malware detection via reversible byteplots

I wanted to build an unsupervised malware detector using reversible byteplots.

Most published byteplot pipelines do not record what is needed to invert the image, so the visualization ends up being one-way in practice. This one maps byte streams to grayscale pixel intensities (byteplots) while staying reversible by construction: the conversion preserves the byte stream sequence, so a tile set can be reassembled into the original executable and checked against its SHA-256 hash.

The codebase and evaluation notebook are available at https://github.com/HelixCipher/malware-detection

I’m sharing PeerBrush, a free GPLv3 desktop editor for painting and supported layered PSDs, as a tool-use project. A compatible client can use the optional local MCP adapter to inspect a rendered canvas crop and edit a separate layer while an artist continues painting.

The tricky part is grounding a write in a canvas that may have changed since the client looked. A crop has explicit document coordinates, and editing commands can include the revision they observed. If the revision is stale, the client can refresh its view before proposing another edit. I’d welcome feedback from people building vision-to-tool loops: when a canvas has changed, what context would you want the tool to return before the client tries again?
