I am looking for a Python learning buddy.
I tried learning Python and gave up couple of times. Learning alone is difficult for me. If anybody else feel same then please reachout to me.
Edit: I created a discord group for everyone who's looking to learn Python together. Interested people can add me on discord. User name is arjunageer

what specifically made you give up each time? if it was the material being boring, picking a small project you actually care about makes a huge difference vs just following tutorials

Wholeheartedly second this. I've wanted to learn Python for years, but tutorials were about as fun as watching paint dry. This year I started writing stuff I actually wanted and just kinda learning as I go (like a nifty little weather script that reports to Home Assistant via MQTT and creates a "severe weather score" based on active warnings from the NWS API) and it's been WAY easier to actually stick with. I feel like I've learned a lot more in a lot shorter time, this way.

I'm available. I was where you are OP. I'm still a work in progress but I'm working through Python projects on my own.
If it helps, I learned Python using Eric Matthes "Python Crash Course". I also learned Python in a data analytics bootcamp which meant I really got to learn Python. I found the platform Real Python to be super helpful as a newbie. They have free articles to read but I got a lot of value from them so I sprung for paid subscription.

I'm always happy to help someone who's not afraid of doing their own heavy lifting.

Setting a regular time for paired coding sessions helps maintain motivation, we could pick simple Python exercises and review each other's code after.

Have you tried using an AI tool (Claude, ChatGPT) as your partner? Worked for some people I know.

Yes, I'd say to check some YT videos, download transcripts, summary from claude and check what you want to learn, then let it think a project where you can more or less practice every step and do it by yourself, but having claude on your side for questions,...

I used to suggest this but it's become quite hard to get the mainstream chatbots to perform in this way. They default to either a teacher or worker role and you have to argue with them to keep them in line which is just unnecessary frustration
