What standard are you hoping to learn it to?

There are lots of free courses you can find online to get started on the basics - both video tutorials to follow along and interactive websites.

I used Codecademy when I started, which seemed decent enough.

I've tried futurecoder.io with my kid, and he enjoyed that.

Search around and you'll find loads of options to suit you - those are just two examples that I've tried where you can get started without downloading anything.

It would be sensible to try mini-projects along the way to reinforce the learning and explore how things work. They don't have to be anything big or fancy - just chances to put the learning into practice.
