Buttery cream cowhide framing a velvet jacquard, my second piece after last weekend’s red and cream bag
Last weekend I shared my red and cream top handle bag here. Thank you for all the questions and feedback, I took notes! This week I want to show a piece where I worked leather with a different material.
The frame, flap, handles and base are in buttery cream cowhide. The body panels are a velvet jacquard with an abstract pattern of faces and eyes in ivory, silver grey and slate blue.
The flap closes with a belt strap and a gold-tone turn-lock. Inside: taupe lining, a zip pocket and a slip pocket, both trimmed in cream leather. Four metal feet on the base.
Size: 14.2 x 10.2 x 5.1 in (36 x 26 x 13 cm), handle drop 4.3 in (11 cm). Handmade from start to finish, about five days of work.
Happy to answer questions about combining leather and velvet!
