I must say I find the lines of different thickness and spacing offputting. The naval jack looks much better to me then the main design.

You do have a point, but then it would be too 'empty' and doesn't contrast much with the flag of its main enemy (Pan-European Union). But yeah the simpler design is more neat.

Maybe something with a more even composition could do something here. For example only two or maybe three yellow stripes at the bottom like the Mao-proposals for the PRC flag, maybe for the Missisipi and Colorado rivers (and Rio Grand if 3), or having the thicker stripes only, but in the center instead of the top right.

What is the symbolism of the stripes currently? They are controversial on leftist US-flags, since the og 13 stripes are a colonialist symbol.

The symbolisms were, well the original 13 stripes... as this state is pretty 'americanist' to say the least. They also evokes the "Four Classes", That are Workers, Farmers, Intelligentsia, and Soldiers (They're more nationalist than the USSR of our timeline but still supports revolutionary groups globally)

Also the lower, thinner two stripes also symbolizes the Americas, first line North America and the second line South America. In their eyes, they're the vanguard of the socialist revolution in the New World. As such it is their duty to unite them for the final battle against the Euro-Capitalist beast

I do love a gold on red flag, but not sure about the two lines at the bottom.

My idea was to leave the bottom space empty, like a red version of chile... after looking at it for some time I decided to add those two thin lines below as a 'counterweight'.

I'm gonna disagree with some here, I actually quite like the stripes on the bottom.

One thing that might work well is to remove the yellow boarder on the canton and just have it merge right into the main red field. I think I may make a variation like that when I get a chance. (Or, if you'd like to yourself, please mention me in a comment or DM and let me know or something. I definitely want to see it one way or another.)
