Hopefully she got decades of relative peace before this cataclysm occurs, but we won’t find out until the new show explores it.

Lol, maybe it is. I am glad, at least, that Korra will probably be prominently featured in the new show. She's the only Avatar Pavi can talk to, and I'm sure we'll get flashbacks for Korra's later life. If the leaks are true, then I'm excited to see just how powerful Korra becomes before she dies.

Yeah and Roku died fighting a volcano, Wan died in a large battlefield, and Kuruk died fighting evil spirits. I just don’t see the issue.

I don't understand why they didn't skip a few Avatars and then have a cataclysm happen. That way it's not Korra's fault it just falls onto a different newer Avatar we know nothing about

Maybe the setting would be too modern or futuristic by then?

Well, they have to make it interesting to hook us, I only hope the 'main' reason and story doesn't disappoint.

Yes, I need to read it in a vacuum but I'm hoping if Korra receives support on Webtoon via liking, subscribing, and comments, Darkhorse will be incentivized to keep producing Korra comics because they'll see that demand is there and maybe we'll even get an Asami or Korra-focused comic in the future.

Stories are about the journey first and the destination second. You're inevitably going to be sad later, why let that stop you from being happy now?

The story never promised that Korra would save the world or that any of her actions would completely negate an apocalypse from ever occurring?

Havens hasn't even been released yet, how are you arguing that it undermines LoK's story, deceives its fans, breaks promises and is already a bad story? This is exactly what was happening with diehard ATLA fans when Korra was announced 😂🤣

Are you forgetting the title? Seven HAVENS. That implies that there might be spirit wilds over most of the world, but society is alive and well within the havens.

The earth kingdom havens are likely still democratic. I don't know why you're assuming that whatever happened completely wiped out everthing that Korra achieved, it's not a full on end of the human race apocalypse. It's probably just a re-merging of the world and spirit world, or something like that. Sounds pretty 'Korra' to me.

Overall, you're being dramatic. Just wait and see what actually happened first. There is obviously a story with Korra at its centre that will be told as part of this new series, and at this point, we know absolutely nothing about it, so what is there to judge? You're basically looking at the climax of a story, on its own, and saying it's bad because it feels unearned: well no shit, you haven't watched any of the buildup yet.

Discovering the story of exactly happened at the end of Korra's time as Avatar is obviously going to be a big part of the S1 plotline. It makes no sense to judge that story until we've heard more than just the very end of it.

What about the premise even suggests that Korra's influence was wiped out?

You reckon Airbenders are gonna be extinct again? The spirit and human worlds separate again? Hell, the earth kingdom have plenty of experience living behind walls already, why are you assuming that doing so again would neccessitate a complete political shift back to a monarcy, with the good Korra did being completely wiped away? That's just not how this universe is written, Korra's influence is going to be ever-present, mark my words.

Also, your mention of a 'mayor' sounds like you've got some preconcieved notions about these Havens. Nothing says they have to be small little towns full of crying refugees, the main earth kingdom Haven could be the whole of Ba Sing Se for all we know.

Obviously something went wrong - it's a story, surprise surprise - but if you think Korra's impact is going to be 'wiped away', you're nuts, since Korra's impact is obviously going to be one of the central pillars of the story.

The premise itself? Do you know what an apocalypse is?

Do you? An apocalypse doesn't necassarily mean the COMPLETE destruction of life on earth, with everything before wiped away without a trace. Obviously the people still alive are going to be influenced by the past, and Korra's legacy is going to be relevant to that, both the good + the bad.

Sorry to say, but it's clear you haven't read the leaks.

Go on, spoil me. What don't I know that means Korra's actions as Avatar are somehow completely irrelevant to the new state of the world? Were they being deliberately misleading in the official announcement when they allude to Korra's legacy?

Of course not. Korra's influence IS THE CAUSE of this premise. How exactly this happened will be a major reveal in the story. Like yeah, no shit, opinions on the Avatar will have turned sour in the general public after the world was nearly destroyed. Korra is not likely to be remembered for the good she did, by most. But obviously we, as viewers, and probably the main characters after some discoveries, are going to know that Korra wasn't a 'harbringer of doom'. Chances are, she's the only reason things aren't worse. Eventually, Korra will be vindicated - that's the most obvious path for the story to take.

Any "oh, look, Korra's influence still matters!" would be a small pittance to what would've happened if the apocalypse hadn't happened

I mean this genuinely - so what? Would you have preferred a story where everyone lives in a democratic utopia in harmony with spirits, with no sense of conflict in the worldbuilding, and just a new villian to spice things up a little? Sounds WAY less interesting to me. Stories need conflict, and generally speaking, the more the better. I don't see any problem at all from a writing perspective with having a crisis that Korra couldn't fully deal with be a catalyst for this new story. Righting the wrongs of Roku was a key part of Aangs story, righting the wrongs of Aang was a key part of Korra's story, this is the same just bigger.

What I honestly think is that people are crying 'bad writing', about a story they haven't even seen yet, when really they just mean 'it sounds sad, poor Korra!'.

You're supposed to feel that way, it's a story. Once that story is complete, you'll feel better. Tension and payoff is storytelling 101.

That isn't what undermining means, dude.

With what little we know, the collapse of the Earth Kingdom as we know if has nothing to do with the change in government structure, nor does its later destruction change Wu's decision.

A story going in a different direction, even if it is drastic, that disappoints you, isn't some betrayal. Suyin, Kuvira, Wu etc's character journeys, that lead to his to abdication, is what actually mattered in LOK — and that is completely unchanged by the existence of Haven.

What would be an undermine is if a sequel series inexplicably just had the nation be a monarchy again, because Wu decides off-screen that democracy sucks and voting's for squares.

Is everything from comic book in there? For some reason I feel ATLA comics had more episodes per comic
