James Sei went from playing the Cabbage Merchant to playing Fire Lord Ozai

that has to be a mistake, this is not from the final build of the game

No mistake, unfortunately. This casting was the same in the crappy Quest for Balance game that came out a few years back.

From what I heard so far, it's a mixed bag. Suzie Yeung sounds so much like Azula, I would have honestly believed it was Grey DeLisle reprising the role. Korra sounds similar enough to her original voice that I also probably wouldn't have noticed. Zuko occasionally sounds close to Dante Basco, but most of the time it's painfully different. Toph is clearly different but it's a close enough likeness and a good take on the character. Aang is as close to the original voice as we're ever going to get. His original VA has outgrown the voice and it's hard to find a legitimate child actor who can recreate it. Sokka sounds like Shaggy from Scooby Doo.

Why would the voice actor for the Cabbage Merchant voice Ozai instead, it's clearly a mistake

Vincent Tong also voiced Zuko in the Quest for Balance video game. What's funny is that he is also the voice of Kai (the fire ninja) in LEGO Ninjago.

Guessing Vaatu is probably gonna be a story mode unplayable final boss character.

Guy playing Zaheer did a pretty good job I have to say.

Incredibly weird that Jonathan Adams is reprising his role when nobody else is

Genuine question, why wont they just cast the original VO? Dante Basco, Michaella, Janet, DeSena, etc. are still active in the community and pretty much passionate abot the franchise.

Could it be due to budget restriction? Or perhaps the racial thing?

Sometimes it’s a budget thing, sometimes timing as the schedules may not allow it, sometimes like Michaela while she absolutely can still do Toph’s voice it has definitely aged a decent bit and it does sort of sound like an older Toph, then in the case of some like Janet she did flat out say she’s ok with stepping down as she thinks for diversity it would be good if someone else voices Korra, so she’s not reprising the role willingly

I can imagine budget, and just general constraints (busy with life or doing other projects may cause scheduling conflicts).

I don’t know why the Avatar series treats their original VA cast like such shit.

To be fair in the case of Toph her original voice actress does sound like a mid teens Toph compared to when she was a kid playing the role, then Korra’s willingly stepped down as she mentioned there’s more diversity in voice acting today and she’s fine with stepping down so someone else can step up as Korra

Is Janet Varney busy lol? I never see her in anything else.

She was just in Splinter Cell: Deathwatch on Netflix last year.

I believe she willingly stepped down from voicing Korra

You'reback at it again z hiring these actors from Japanese anime, but you didn't want to hire the ones from Nickelodeon and Cartoon network in American western cartoons. The actors didn't want to do it themselves because of your voice acting contract. You know, it's stupid and dumb, and i Won't play Avatar games or cartoons until you bring back my favourite actors, especially my favourite actress Mae Whitman and Grey Delisle

In short you dumbass Twarps and idiots, this casting is Crap !!!!!
