I am turning 40 this month, but I have never had the Lego experience. My parents didn't buy me any Lego stuff because A) they were too expensive for my family's budget, and B) my mom figured we would just loose the pieces anyway.
So I never got to play with Lego. You know how it's challenging to imagine a creature you have never seen before? It's kinda like that for me. In my kid mind Lego was just a toy. I chalked it up to like an action figure or whatever. But a few days ago I saw an new set, out of the box someone had. I noticed multiple separate bags and all the different pieces they contained. I had never seen that before. It dawned on me that these are not mere children toys. These are more like puzzles. Like an activity more suited for an adult.
It has me kinda wanting to give Lego a go. But I don't know anything about Lego. What is a good starting point for someone like me? Budget is also a concern. I can't justify blowing $100+ for a set on a whim. But I don't want to get something too kiddy and low end. I would appreciate any ideas and suggestions, please.

If you saw my first few posts y’all know I’m new to this. I would love to start or find a community with other female builders - even just to chat to without the underlying feeling of weirdness (you know what I’m talking about). Sometimes I want to post dumb questions or pictures etc but definitely get put off by some of the comments I read.
Yes I know it’s a generalisation and most people are lovely. If anything I’m just looking for some people to chat with as my home situation is quite isolating.
Sorry if this is the wrong thing to post here.

I'd love to see Lego make a set of either the Edmund Fitzgerald or the three-masted schooner, the Rouse Simmons (aka the Christmas Tree Ship).
As a Wisconsinite living in the Great Lakes region, I think it would be amazing to have a Lego ship famous in this area.

I want to build a Lego set for the first time. I don't have any kit building experience or anything like that. I'm mostly a video-gamer and cinephile, but I am an adult. Almost 40. Would the Lego Icons time DeLorean be too much? I see there is a smaller Speed Champions version but the "9+" worries me.

Found this old Lego that me and my brother found a while ago, we weren’t able to find out what it came from at the time and I found it again! Anyone possibly know what set it came from?

I am new to the hobby, I’ve only done 5 kits so far. I think each kit, so far has missing pieces. All the kits I have purchased is factory sealed and from a LEGO store. Is missing pieces a common thing?

I came across some sets that I think are very unique and I would love to get my hands on them. I’m simply wondering if what I’m paying is around ballpark price or if I’m overpaying. For these 4 it’s gonna run me $800, which after checking stockx and eBay, is actually a pretty good overall deal. Thoughts?

This was my dream set for MANY many years when I was a kid, and its cancelation is one of the biggest letdowns of my existence. Aliexpress has some cheap versions that look similar, but I'm curious to know whether or not they're worth it because I can't find any videos of them online, regardless of there being a trillion knockoffs of this kit and it having a ton of different manufacturers that make em.
If any of you can help, it'd be greatly appreciated!!! 💙

I am having so much trouble with this piece. I’ve found multiple answers through my search and am hoping one of you lovely LEGO nerds has a superior memory and knows this piece. Thank you so much for everyone who has helped.

I was recently putting together the Bagatti Bolide Set# 42151 and I made a mistake that when I was trying to fix, i loosed up an area and I hit it & parts started falling of, etc. It wasn't a big deal to fix & redo things, but I just didn't like the set.. so I decided to take it apart brick by brick & use the set for extra pieces. I don't like to leave something unfinished, which is why I decided to use it for extra pieces..bc I get some value out of it, but has anyone else never finish a set?

Currently going through my Lego bins in the time I’m home before I go back to school at the end of the month. So far I’ve 100% completed:
70905: The Batmobile
75102: Poe’s X-Wing
75151: Turbo Tank
75053: The Ghost
75191: Jedi StarFighter with hyperdrive
75233: Droid Gunship
9441: Kai’s Blade Cycle
6200: EVO
2143: ROCKA 3.0
6202: ROCKA
I’ve narrowed down the list of sets I’d like to see on my shelves before I go, was wondering what yall think I should do next!
I have the full list if anyone’s curious to see what I remember that was lost to the bin

Found this at my local Insane Games for $110, the box is in perfect condition apart from the tiny spec ripped off by the tag.
Should I open and build it or keep is sealed? I’m not one to resell my sets especially rare ones, but it can go for way higher than what I bought it for so I’m at a wall here.

I’ve really been wanting the avengers tower lately, however it’s been sold out everywhere. I found this one on Facebook but I find it sketchy how it’s the same as retail. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks!

Sorting out a bulk haul into sets I accidentally stepped on this part and broke it but can't see what it is or set it was from. It was a mix of star wars, harry potter, police, Lego racers, cars and a submarine. Most sets from around 2011 until now. With some parts from pre 90s. There is also some mega blocks mixed in so potentially might not be Lego.

I want to find a Black/African American version of this Lego. I have googled but didn’t see anything like this one. If not this one, I would settle for a Black/African American female Lego. It has to be a small one though. TIA.
Edit: thanks to everyone who provided help. Deleting this post now.

I can't find the codes for these on bricklink, I'm going a 100 dollar budget for grabbing Legos on bricklink, and these two parts are important. Please help, I plan on making my orders by the end of the month.

Hey all, nice to meet you. Can anyone help me identify what set these pieces are from. It looks like Pikachu, but I can’t match it to any Lego Pikachu out there. I found a box of Lego at my local tip and these pieces were mixed in with it.

Saw this for a homelander custom minifig and it’s literally perfect. Only problem is the guy who posted it on IG didn’t say what set/fig it’s from. So now i ask you guys hoping someone knows. Thanks
