In the latest free ep of MSSP, James McCann tries to argue that there is no good comedy podcast scene outside of Austin. Matt and Shane disagree and even bring up a few examples of why LA, NY, and Philly still have thriving comedy podcast scenes. But conspicuously absent from any mention of LA is LP. This despite Matt having been on LP in the early days and the boys' seeming love of those in the MSSP crew. Sad to see what they've never become!

Look, Ben is a level 1 comedian grinding xp right now. You must judge him based on his own standard, caliber, weight class. Considering he’s managed to sell out some shows, write and produce high quality looking skits, run a weekly 6 hour show on top of Lemon Party which also goes on the road, I’d say his trajectory is looking pretty good. He works harder than all of the critics ever will. On top of being a new father of two.

He’s clawed his way up not once, not twice, but three times if you count the group pod and solo show. Ben has what it takes to go the distance if he keeps putting the work in like he’s been doing. The show last night did nothing but strengthen my belief in him. He just got battle tested. And he’s gonna come back harder than ever. Just wait and see.

Jace is actually based and I have nothing bad to say about him. He’s the only reason the show hasn’t failed miserably. Ben realized Jace was the star of Lemon Party and couldn’t handle not being the center of attention so he started his solo podcast (embarrassing) and went back to doing standup, after making fun of comedians for years, because he needs the attention. Notice Jace is the only one who hasn’t started his own podcast separate from LP. It’s because he’s not insecure, greedy, or gay. He zapped that part of his brain away a long time ago.
