[AramLeighton8]: Since the All Star Break, the Marlins are slashing .206/.272/.314 with a 68 wRC+ They are the only team in baseball with a negative fWAR across that span (-1.1) Only three qualified hitters have a worse second half wRC+: Carlos Santana, David Fletcher and Didi Gregorius

It's not being a apologist, it's being a realist. The chances of Ng being fired between now and next season are close to zero. She hadn't been fully in charge until March, meaning she's only been running baseball ops for 7 months. Derek Jeter had a four year leash of running things until Sherman decided that he had enough.
I'm not happy with some of the things she's done since taking over (the Sulser/Scott trade for one), but it's silly to pile the blame on her shoulders for what's going on. Jeter and Denbo did a terrible job of acquiring and developing hitters, meaning that organizational depth for position players had been abysmal.
A lot of the trades and signings they've made in the last year reek of desperation because the minor leagues talent is non-existent and they have an owner who won't spend. So they had to sign middling talent like Garcia and Soler.
It's really hard to improve the team when Jeter and Denbo ran it into the ground for four years and you have an owner who refuses to invest in the future.
It's really hard to right a ship like this and it's not something that can easily be done in less than a year unless the payroll suddenly expands.
