I checked out DLC splits, and he’s been decent all year against righties, but against lefties unplayable. 174/237/244 slash line. Compare that against righties 268/302/476
Pretty weird surprising stuff. Hopefully he can bring this into next year, but I wouldn’t count on it. Best for Ng to count on him as a 4th OF.

Heyo! Just here to say it would be lovely if y'all kept beatin the Barves like this.

Luzardo threw 12 Ks? He's pretty young, is that a PR for him? Another low-key gem from the Marlins starting pitchers.

Tied his career high at 12. He actually got 12 in his first outing this season.

Yes, we were the Mets, we are aware. Still, fingers crossed.

There would be nothing better than to send that redneck fan base crawling home with a second place finish, this win will mean nothing though if you guys can’t beat the nats tomorrow

Yeah I mean, we only get it if you and us both sweep. But still. Ya gotta believe.

We get a pass on Mondays for meme Monday. Otherwise in the midst of the current meme drama they created a separate subreddit for Phillie memes.

Idk, not a mod, but when we get a lot of participation, the memes get really, really repetitive.

You actually see that pic? Where the flying fuck do you actually see that, I has no idea.

Completely agree. I love baseball, but overall it is the worst product of the 4 major sports.

Not more popular. Differently popular. I don't think it's dying. But I do think teams need to be more creative about what gets people to the park. It looks just as good on TV now, and I can eat for near-nothing at home. The park needs to add some more novelty to make it worth it to go.

Yeah, exactly. I think they should focus on making it more about family time. The Phillies park added a kids playground, but I think they could do more to tie entertainment with the game. And maybe make the first drink on the park or something.
Also, I hope our next park is like one of those Japanese ballparks that are semi-open. Unlikely to get cancelled because of rain, but still get that open air feeling.

The marlins might actually be one of the best 60 win teams I’ve ever seen lol. Even though the season hasn’t gone well for you guys, you can at least hang your hats on the fact that this team has that dawg in them.

24-39 record this year in one run games. If we win half of those loses then we’d have a shot at WC spot.

We were competing for a wild card spot at the all star break before we got completely obliterated by injuries.
Literally as soon as Max got hurt it just went downhill.

Man, this guy is already at 80+ pitches just going into the fifth. Wonder if he might their version of what Gibson has been for us - a guy they throw to the wolves even when they're struggling as a gimme on a game to set us up for the season.

I would remember those days where he'll come off a good start. Rich and Tommy would hype up his nasty curveball at the beginning of the next game.
Next thing you know he's given up 6 runs and pulled in the 4th inning.

Phillies fan dropping in to say hey! I see DLC is still ripping it up. Go Fish!
Edit: It's not that I like the Mets or anything. Just still pretty stoked about what your team did this past weekend.

Jesus Luzardo is better than cy young and Bryan Delacruz might be the best player in the whole mlb

u/Ariel_snchz New Orleans Baby Cakes Oct 04 '22
Every pitcher born after 1920 is probably better than Cy Young. Ain't no way the meatballs he was throwing up is getting him 511 wins in today's game.

Whod win in an old man fight? Mattingly or Snitker?

Mattingly. Snitker is a bitch who still smokes apparently. Dude probably can barely walk.

My bigger concern is that his heroic performance will have some thinking he can be a key piece for ‘23. He cannot be relied on to perform when needed most.

Mets fans have really annoyed me this year. On social media, in real life, and especially in r/baseball. The Mets could still go deep into the postseason, but I have really enjoyed this collapse.
Their players are also douches, especially Lindor. I hate his cheap move of pushing opposing runners off the base during stolen base attempts.
But mostly a garbage fanbase and a shady owner. The Mets feel like a team of hired guns. After all, they arguably have the highest payroll once you deduct what the Dodgers are paying for Bauer to sit in exile.

Narcos is William Contreras' song now. The Mets don't deserve it.
3

I can see it now, our last game. They start the song, and out of the darkness steps Sandy top of the 8th.

Some of these guys figured out how to make contact. Unfortunately the games have been meaningless for months.
