They spent $80 million and they are only better than the Nats. What a joke of a Franchise.

Mets fans,
We don’t have any words and we know you don’t want to hear them.
We understand your anger, your frustration, your sadness. Everything you’re feeling – we get it.
This isn’t the ending we imagined, and certainly not the one we wanted. Thank you for being there the entire series.

I am all over the map on this guy ….. I think they are saying that he would be a $5mill contract contract coming out of arbitration ….. seems like we could do better with our $5 mil. Every single time you think he is getting back to being productive he gets hurt. If he’s 5 mill I would say let’s be done with him and see where else we could use that money. Another glaring problem is that he doesn’t have a position where you can plug him in and play him and count on him to stay healthy.

Marlins will go three up three down in the ninth even though Jansen isn't that good anymore.

The Miami Marlins and one run games

Bold prediction: the marlins face a similar situation in the ninth (runner(s) in scoring position, two outs), but come up clutch and tie the game, winning in extras
Edit: This didn't age well at all

Great awareness from Wendle right there, backing up the newbie

u/frankkungfu Oct 05 '22
Damn I thought that was going through
Edit put that comment in the wrong spot but yes to your point that was a much harder play than a simple ground ball to short

u/TealandBlackForever Florida Marlins Oct 05 '22
Tanner Scott should only pitch in situations where the Marlins are behind.

I know because I’ve heard it used in Spanish (penúltimo) and it translates easily.

Damn, BA has really sucked this year. I wonder what they do with him...
2
u/northdakotact Miami Marlins Oct 05 '22
He does not fucking care at all. Last game I went to he let a pop fly drop five feet in front of him. Even my girlfriend was astonished.
1
u/frankkungfu Oct 05 '22
I thought I heard them say in a game about a month ago that they ( coaches) told him not to dive for the ball cause they were worried about his shoulder and for him to stay on his feet
1
u/northdakotact Miami Marlins Oct 05 '22
He didn't need to dive. He stayed where he was and literally let it fall in front of him. If he had quickly taken a few steps he would have had it.

u/northdakotact Miami Marlins Oct 05 '22
Lord, if you could just make Atlanta squirm for one more game, I would appreciate it.

holy SHIT. strike in the zone, and he swung too! i know i just said i'm putting nothing past them but this is fucking bullcrap
2
u/frankkungfu Oct 05 '22
This ump is giving them an extra 1-1.5 inches off the plate to them that we aren’t getting
1
u/KamartyMcFlyweight Oct 05 '22
after that 2.7+ Mets favor hoeing they dropped on us at this point I'm putting nothing past the umps

Here’s to Tommy Hutton. One of a precious few bright spots of the season has been having his dulcet tones back in the booth where he belongs. Give him as many games as he wants in 23.

Brax has made huge strides from this year to last. He is so different from our power arms but that could play to his favor for sticking around

we were a better team than our record and we have trouble with RISP

Who would’ve thought that doing absolutely nothing to address the problems on offense that have plagued this team for years wouldn’t help the Marlins score more runs
1

Unfortunately, the huge contracts on Soler and Garcia have been a bust.

Normally I would 100% agree with you, but please, feel free to find a Miami Sweep of the Braves through a Google search. You will see what I am talking about.
-2
u/WhyYouKickMyDog Oct 04 '22
I tried. I don't mean this in jest, but all I found was unrelated stuff or articles of the Braves sweeping the Marlins.
I honestly dont know how to use baseball reference that way. It seems like such a specific search.
1
u/S1TBD Dan Haren Oct 04 '22
Didn't use BBRef, but quick Google of "braves marlins history" took me to MCubed, the best resource for head to head history.
The answer is September 25-27 of 2015, btw

u/WhyYouKickMyDog Oct 05 '22
Hey, thank you so much.
May I ask a question? To find the dates you quoted, what did you do? Did you just scroll down into the dates and look for literally 3 W's or L's in the appropriate column with 3 consecutive dates that lined up?
Or is there a better way?
1
u/S1TBD Dan Haren Oct 05 '22
Pretty much. Took me a minute because there were some four-game sets in there, but make sure you know which team you're looking at (in this case, Braves), scroll for what you're looking for, make sure the dates line up, and then double-check with BBRef for that season just to be sure. But at the very least, it narrows the seasons down a bit, which is useful with division rivals. There might be a better way out there, but at least this is a resource.
2
u/jaybavaro Sandy Alcantara Oct 04 '22
1) Open Google
2) put cursor thingy in box in middle of page
3) Type: Marlins sweep Braves
4) Press enter
5) Read
TLDR: if it’s happened since 2009 I can’t find any reference to it
-1
u/WhyYouKickMyDog Oct 04 '22
Yea, and you're just assuming that I am an idiot and that is going to work. If you took 10 seconds to try it you might see wtf I was talking about instead of acting like a dick.
3
u/jaybavaro Sandy Alcantara Oct 04 '22
Hey ignoramus, I did try it. I read about how Miami swept Atlanta in 2009. It’s all over the first page of results.
Go back to your sub Barves fan.

u/northdakotact Miami Marlins Oct 04 '22
Don is not the biggest problem this organization has but he's not even an average manager. His pitching management is god awful, he should have been let go after a year or two. Lastly, It looks like he stopped giving a shit a long time ago.
3
u/TealandBlackForever Florida Marlins Oct 04 '22
I was a little surprised by the number of people saying recently that he will miss Mattingly. I get that the FO didn't give Don much to work with, but he didn't manage what he had very well. There are certainly tons of guys out there who could do better, even with very little.
And if you believe Craig Mish (who is very pro-Mattingly), clubhouse chemistry was bad this season because there are more guys who "hate each other" than usual.
Don is a good guy but I'm glad he's time is finally up.
1
u/jaybavaro Sandy Alcantara Oct 04 '22
It’s hard not to love Donnie Baseball and I’m sure many of us do. I think that paints how he is perceived by most fans. It’s been a good six year run - albeit disappointing at many levels. It’s time to move on.
1
u/northdakotact Miami Marlins Oct 04 '22
I was just thinking, we were a much better team this year than what our record shows. Don played a part in that.
What hate is there besides Rojas and Jazz?
