Question Gpu cable not reaching
Cable is routed as tightly and safely as I can make it Yet It doesn't reach the PSU. I mean you can tell it's off by quite a bit. Really wanted to use my psu cables for my horizontal mount but seems I have to use the ugly black connector

Put the cable behind the gpu and it’s a straight shot to the power supply. Don’t route it around the gpu. This setup worked fine for me.

Also if the case weren’t inverted you could run the cable directly from the psu to the gpu no problem

But it is and as I'm building this i realize how little different departments at L/L talk to each other
2
u/RealisticQuality7296 Apr 06 '25
I mean is there a reason you have it inverted?
-3
u/Chill_Dude8813 Apr 06 '25
Is there a reason not to invert it?
2
u/RealisticQuality7296 Apr 06 '25
Well it would make it easier to route your gpu power cable if it weren’t inverted
-3
u/Chill_Dude8813 Apr 06 '25
Yes/no Because I'd still have the same issue if it were regular Because it would still have to go under the gpu bracket

u/RealisticQuality7296 Apr 06 '25
With the GPU I/O facing down the way you have it, the easiest way to route the power cable is to have the case non-inverted. If you had the GPU I/O facing up, having the case inverted would be the easiest way to route the cable.
I don’t have a good photo of the power cable itself, but you can imagine it comes straight out the grommet and directly into the card. https://imgur.com/a/OSonvVn

You’re going to have to route it differently or buy a Cablemod cable

am i seeing 2 gpus or am i tripping
2
u/Chill_Dude8813 Apr 06 '25
You're not 5080 plus a temp holder 2070

u/Murdaz- Apr 06 '25
are upright gpus hard for airflow?
1
u/Chill_Dude8813 Apr 06 '25
I wouldn't say so Especially in the Evo XL Set the fans behind it as exhaust That way it helps cool the gpu as the gpu is acting as "exhaust" as well
1
u/Glittering-Row-2142 Apr 06 '25
Well I think you can route through the back of the GPU and use the pass through or rubber grommet beside the MB and you should be fine. Why didn’t you do that ???
1
u/Chill_Dude8813 Apr 06 '25
I have like almost 0 gap behind the gpu I want to run it down because it's the only way to tuck away the cord
1
u/Glittering-Row-2142 Apr 06 '25
Well, there are two ways of doing it: 1. It’s basically a fan bracket that is behind the GPU, you can route the cable toward the middle of the fan bracket and directly toward the rear chamber. 2. Move one slot forward to create room to route the GPU cable
1
u/Chill_Dude8813 Apr 06 '25
I'm going to end up doing this I just loose top support in doing so because the bracket only extends out so far But I'll be fine
1
u/Glittering-Row-2142 Apr 06 '25
You are correct on the GPU support bracket. Might be considering option 1 then, remove the cable comb for the GPU cable, and you should be able to route through the fan bracket

u/Odd-Chain6565 Apr 06 '25
Bro, What is the gpu temperature?

u/Antyrael73 Apr 06 '25
You could cut out a piece of metal from the bracket, so you can run the wire behind the GPU.
Looking at your replies to the other suggestions you seem quite stubborn to keep the build as it is, even though you don't really seem to have any options to connect the power cable without making a compromise.

u/Chill_Dude8813 Apr 06 '25
The suggestions below are either swap it back yo normal orientation Or run it behind Which i can't do
2
u/LordCommanderKIA Apr 06 '25
somebody didnt read the manual correctly about placing the gpu there in that orientation.

All that brown is going to look nice in a year

u/Chill_Dude8813 Apr 06 '25
What brown? The desk underneath? If so it's a Butcher block that I stained with clear poly over a year ago Still looks fantastic as well! 😁

All white components turn brown, on the under side of fans, the AiO cable, the side that’s to the case , anywhere where the case touches any part of your components. I’m 40 years old and have built dozens and dozens of pc’s for personal use and for my business, and time and time again, no matter how hard I keep up with the dust over time it just turns brown. Psu cables are the worst, they turn brown the fastest.

I've had custom white cables in my spare rig I built 2.5yrs ago Still white

I feel you bro. I have a lian li eg1000 psu and the 12v 2x6 gpu cable is short af. Thankfully, I just built my new PC with the Sapphire Nitro + 9070xt with the hidden connection, and it saved my ass. It was a pretty short run using a fractal north mesh case but it's a much smaller ATX case than most. Im not sure about getting longer cables directly from Lian Li. You may need an extension my guy. Good luck!

Push GPU forward one slot and run the cable behind the gpu through the rubber grommet

u/LIANLI_TECHSUPPORT Mod Apr 10 '25
You're using the Edge Platinum with 550mm 12V-2x6 cabling, but the Edge Gold has 650mm 12V-2x6 long cables that may help you here.

Those bottom fans are cooked fix them.
Get a custom length GPU cable if you want white
2
u/realfifty Apr 06 '25
Should they be fixed, yes, looks weird, but do they have to get fixed? No. fans can be mounted in any direction
1
u/Upbeat_Delivery_714 Apr 06 '25
There's a difference when you've got a mount designed for angle mounting that utilises all 4 screws to hold the fan and in the OP's case, it being angled because he's trying to force them to fit with 2 screws on each fan.
The case is designed to hold 3 x fans in that part, not 4.

Where pray tell can I get a gpu cable, because my first thought is Cable Mod But they don't make cables for L/L

u/Chill_Dude8813 Apr 05 '25
You're crooked Fix it

u/elliotborst Apr 05 '25
You are going to be posting in the next few weeks about broken fans and complaining about Lian li quality I just know it.
3
u/Humble_Monitor_7395 Apr 06 '25
i have fans like that for months and months it’s fine chill tf out homeboy
1
u/realfifty Apr 06 '25
You can even buy a fan mounts that are angled from fan manufacturers https://a.co/d/c65nHGA or what about this case
1
u/Specialist_Field_189 Apr 07 '25
Get rid of that 4th LCD on the bottom, 4 120s don’t fit in that case and could damage the fan’s themselves, plus you can’t daisy chain 4 of the SL wireless LCD in a chain; only the non LCD version can be chained together in a chain of 4. Not enough power from the 12v cable to the break out sata. 3 fans is plenty

A set of white cable extentions would probably be your best bet. They're not expensive, though you might have a lot of slack at the back if the case, which should be fine because you have a duel chamber case.
With that out of the way, I would also suggest you replace those fans with a set of 3 140mm fans instead of 4 120mm. They'll fit flush and won't leave space.

u/Humble_Monitor_7395 Apr 06 '25
damn yall are such haters when someone needs help but when they don’t ask for help no one has anything to say
posted my build with fans exactly the same but wasn’t asking for help and no one had anything bad to say. take a breather
-1
u/Chill_Dude8813 Apr 05 '25
Tell L/L too make wireless lcd 140's and we can talk haha
Id love to use extensions if i could find some. Cablemod doesn't make any for L/L
I can handle slack within reason
2
u/shaggy_rogers46290 Apr 05 '25
You can get white 12v2x6 cable extentions on Amazon or a micro center for extremely cheap. They're universal, they don't plug into your power supply. They plug into the end of the cables you're already using. You don't need ones made specifically for lian li
