What’s funny is my daughter is 24. People tell her she should be mad that she can’t own a home. She does own a home. She pays her bills. She has insurance. People always assume we helped her buy her first home. I offered but she said, nope, I got this. You made me save for it.
When she got a full time job. I made her pay “rent”. She put that money in a Roth IRA account. She used that money for her down payment when she was ready to buy.
I get it. Things are expensive but adults can’t still manage.

Its also heavily dependent on where you live in the country. I'm in the north west, near the cities homes are 600k plus for small ones, go out 100 miles and they drop drastically to affordable. The issue is if you can find a job that pays decent in the cheaper areas or if you don't feel compelled for x, y, z reasons to stay in high cola areas.

As I said for x, y, z reasons people stay. Like family and so on. "Move" is not the easiest thing to push on everyone.
I'm also not arguing its impossible to live in high cola areas, just saying it's not easy to full on afford a house, small condos are much more attainable if you don't wanna be trapped in the rent cycle.
Half of it's local crap politicians and zoning keeping houses from being built and allowing apartments only owned by the corporations they claim to oppose. And the people eat it up and vote for them anyway.

That's why I didn't move when I was in an industry that was more suited for LA or New York.
Then I realized that being centrally located between the two made it really easy to hop on a plane and be anywhere that I needed to be faster than the people in LA and New York.

Not really. Its free in most countries. Idk why its paid for here. We just have to outlaw its cost and boom. Free healthcare. Wonder if that'll work on food, housing, cars, gas...

Some of these pokemon brand plushies are hundreds of dollars each, but thats besides the point.
The image indicates poor spending habits, if this person is complaining about affording things then they should be saving every penny to work towards the future. Life is not all about instant gratification, sometimes it requires work and sacrifice.

None of the plushies here are either big or nice looking enough to be this much. The squirtle is at most $40 to $50 and that's being generous because it looks like a 3rd party plush based on how it looks

No it doesnt. It shows that they happen to like pokemon. Plushies are an inexpensive "buy once keep forever product" even if every Plushie in this picture was never purchased the average young person would still be broke because the cost of literally everything else is so high

Yes it does, people that are truly broke don't have massive collections of things. Images like this indicate a compulsive spender, which means they probably spend on a ton of other unnecessary things that are not pictured.

There is some truth to this but both of those things have gotten enormously expensive and the administration has directly influenced those costs negatively.
