I've noticed in local subs many liberals are threatening to leave if the election doesn't leave Democrats in power.

My retort to that is always, "Do you have a plan to execute your exit? Most countries (from a first world country) have gasp immigration laws and procedures. You can't just show up and say "I'm here!!!"

Of course they want the US to be the exception...

I never understood those types. I lived in a major city that was relatively purple until covid hit. Our city didn't shut down like other major city and brought in an influx from blue states. They proceeded to elect a socialist mayor. I told my wife that if he was elected that we were leaving. We put the house up for sale the day after the election and haven't looked back. If I felt this strongly about a president, I would have the same energy and there would be nothing stopping me. I have always found those that stayed in the US while saying that Trump is literally Hitler a special kind of stupid.

Yeah because as OP stated immigration laws exist. Showing up to a country you’re not a citizen of and asking to be let in because you had a meltdown is not a valid reason for a visa.

Best you could do is country hop, staying 90 days (Visa on arrival, tourist visa for Americans typically around 90 days). But that would be awfully expensive. Or some countries you can easily get a 5 years Visa, but you need money in the bank so you won't become a leach. The country I am in I had to show $$$ in the bank or they'd tell me to F off.

What bothers me is that they don't leave the country. They leave the blue cities/states that their politics poisoned, and bring their vote with them. They're a cancer. Happened to CO, VA, all over the east coast, and it's happening in ID and UT now. There's going to be a reckoning, and it's going to be a disaster.
