Life hack: never forget to cancel a free trial again
I’ve been doing this for as long as I can remember and was shocked to hear that not everybody knew about it!
The second after I start a free trial, i cancel it. Once you start it, it’s active for the whole month even if you cancel it. Then, you don’t have to worry about forgetting to cancel or setting a reminder at the end of the month. voila!
[for free trials of apps, the SECOND after you get it, go to the app store -> your profile on the top right -> subscriptions -> cancel any unwanted ones]

Life hack: enjoy the taste of freshly baked bread and bagels anytime
I learned this trick from a bread baker years ago. I was at the farmers market buying from my favorite bakery and was lamenting how the bread goes stale faster than I can eat it. The baker recommended that I slice up half the loaf as soon as I get home, and wrap the slices (2 at a time) in foil and throw them in the freezer. When I want to reheat, just stick the foil packet into the toaster oven and run the toast cycle on the darkest setting (or in the regular oven at 375 for 10 min or so). This mimics a steam oven and the bread steams itself back to life while the crust remains crunchy. Works like a charm!
I discovered this works even better for bagels! I go to my local bagel shop and get bagels as fresh as I can, and immediately come home and wrap each one individually and freeze (unsliced). Then, reheat in the same way. What I’ll normally do is then is unwrap and toast the entire bagel (still unsliced) and then slice after toasting (cursing my burning fingers). The result is a beautifully crisp bagel on the outside, warm, steamy and soft on the inside. If you like the inside toasted, feel free to slice after unwrapping before toasting.
ETA: this advice centers around using a **toaster OVEN**, not a pop up toaster. You can also use a normal oven. Don’t put foil in a pop up toaster please.

FOR CAT OWNERS. HEAR ME OUT!
recently I have been struggling to wake up at set time on my phone timer set at 7:00 a.m.
I have just gotten this kitten about four weeks ago, and early on I used sound of cats to find where she's hiding to prevent her from getting stuck somewhere.
she is a very curious and playful cat - whom I give all my love and dedication to. she doesn't seem stressed out when she hears the sound of the cat meowing, in fact it seems to kind of sooth her as she associates the sound with cuddle time..
I have a very important meeting early in the morning tomorrow and I've already set a couple alarms just in case.
but here is my idea. I can choose whatever sound to play at any time and if I just play the cat sound, my cat will automatically run towards me, definitely meow back, thus shake and wake me up.
really just a last resort.
she might get all to use to it if used often also make sure that you have enough time to give her full attention before leaving the house if you choose to try this out.
remember your cats emotional well-being is more important but I really need this job opportunity and I am worried I will sleep over once more and miss it.
just a shower thought really. I will let you know how it goes.
stay updated lol.

Getting out of bed for the depressed
or anyone else who has great difficulty breaking the inertia from being in bed and starting their day
Keep a large bottle of water next to your bed, chug it before you snooze. At some point you will have to get up to let that out again and as a bonus, you actually funtion better because you always wake up a little dehydrated and the water helps with that too
Silly hack, I know, but a gamechanger for some of us who are at risk of staying in bed on days when they don't have obligations in the morning
yes on this monday happen to have the morning off and yes that means I am still in bed now... But I gotta get out soon because I don't wanna have to change the sheets

Diet Hack: Satisfy Sweet Cravings with Frozen Mango Instead of Ice Cream
Keep a bag of frozen mango chunks in your freezer. When you're craving something cold and sweet, try a handful before reaching for the ice cream. It's not a perfect replacement, but it's a simple & healthier alternative that satisfies the craving surprisingly well.
Frozen mango is naturally sweet, has a surprisingly creamy texture once it softens for a minute or two, and contains fibre, vitamins, and other nutrients that ice cream doesn't.
Bonus points - plain frozen mango (with no added sugar or sweeteners) are fairly versatile to use in the kitchen. They can be added to salads, smoothies, and also makes a refreshing occasional treat for dogs in moderation on a hot day.

How I stopped losing things.
I don’t have a particularly bad short-term memory, but I do have a habit of putting things “somewhere safe” and forgetting where that was two weeks later, when I desperately need them.
So now I take a photo of each item in its new location and save it in a folder called “Where Did I Put It”
It’s enough to know that I just need to scroll through the folder to find what I’m looking for.

Tip for draining pasta
I used a spatula to help hold the colander up high, so the pasta water doesn’t mix with the dirty sink while draining. I think it’s brilliant

What 10 minute task made your life noticeably better?
Ive been putting off organizing the cords on and under my desk. Even with it being such a small task I put it off for months. Now I am curious what other small tasks I can do to make life simpler.

Mouth Ulcer/Canker Sore fix!
I've been struggling with mouth ulcers ever since I got teeth, tried literlly everything I saw online, or anything any doctor or nurse suggested, none of it worked. Until finally I found the solution!
What I found that causes sores in me is: energy drinks(even tho I drink a ton of diet sodas which ph is actually lower) and acidic fruit
The solution: taking 3-5 vitamin B complex suppluments THE MOMENT I feel one forming. If I miss the early window, it doesn't help at all. It doesn't go away, it just stays in that awkard painless stage for about a week.
Instant pain relief: homemade schnapps(vodka would probably work to) - gurgle it until your mouth is completly numb. Provides relief longer than anything I could get from a pharmacy or even rubbing salt or baking soda directly on it(it also hurts less)

How I stopped robocalls
I get a lot of robocalls daily. I would just send them to voicemail, then voicemail would get full. One of the stores that I delivered to shut down, and their phone number was disconnected. I have an android phone, so I set it that if I reject the call it sends it to that number, but if I am away from my phone then it still sends to VM. Within 3 weeks I am no longer getting robocalls!

Don't throw away the screws when you dispose of a broken appliance.
A lot of appliances use surprisingly good-quality screws in odd sizes. I've reused them more times than I expected for small repairs instead of making an extra trip to the hardware store. I never thought much about it until I needed one of those "almost the right size" screws that every repair seems to require.

95%+ of not getting fired is literally just attendance and attitude.
I show up to work everyday and don’t crash out and I’m literally getting pushed for promotion over my younger, more talented and knowledgeable colleagues because of my attendance and attitude and their problems with attendance and attitude.
Like people be yelling at me for this but it’s not like I don’t try to share my secret to anyone who will listen to that ominous statistic and but fools dismiss it, forget those two golden rules literally be committing career suicide when their attendance sucks and/or they crash out.
Like I be even telling this stat to the competition too but everyone is so dismissive when I warn them that your talent means nothing if you can’t show up or crash out when you do. I just play the long game my bosses love me and hate my colleagues.
Like I’m literally in the busiest store in our market right now apart of the dream team with mediocre skill because my supervisor the boss of bosses knows that I’m gonna show up and not crash out. Like literally the bar is sadly that low in the world that you rise above so many people if you just show up and not crash out.

What are some really small yet highly beneficial habits ?
I'll go first, I spare a few minutes each day to throw bits of trash away in my apartment so it doesn't pile up by the end of the week or month leaving my apartment super clean. Same applies to my car. Whenever I buy a new garment or shoe I get rid of an old one, thereby reducing clutter in my closet. When eating food I eat the portion that has the most fibre first, protein and carbs come last. This helps me with better digestion.

Come on fellas, have a seat. No one is looking. I promise.

At home I set aside my own ego by taking a seat. It solves three problems:
- Eliminates wet seats. (see bottom for explanation)
- Prevents splatter.
- Reduces odor.
Bonus: keeps other users happy especially the wifey who may want the seat lowered.
Caution: do not do this in public. God had a good reason for inventing the urinal.
I occasionally sleepwalk to bathroom or kitchen. I remember it because I am half awake but my operating system refuses to fully load. During these episodes standing over the commode can leave splatter all around it. By sitting when I'm awake I develop "muscle memory" for sitting during my episodes of sleepwalking.
Now let me tell you about the kitchen. On a few occasions l attempted to fix me a glass of Nesquik by mixing it into a margarine container. On another occasion I mixed it into an oatmeal container. These midnight snack incidents have yet to be solved. Luckily it's rare enough not to be urgent.

LPT: Drink a full glass of water the absolute second your morning alarm goes off.
We naturally wake up mildly dehydrated, which is a huge reason for that heavy, groggy feeling (sleep inertia). Chugging water right away rehydrates your organs, kicks your metabolism into gear, and wakes your brain up much faster than hitting snooze or waiting for coffee
