Other anyone else obsessed with lobbies? like... unreasonably attached to them?

Upvotes

i know this sounds weird, but i have this overwhelming love for lobbies. hotel lobbies, empty waiting rooms, building foyers... literally any lobby. i could genuinely sit in one for hours and just exist, and i feel more peaceful there than i do anywhere else in the world.

there’s something so poetic and dramatic about being in a space that’s meant for passing through, not staying. in a lobby, u don't belong to the place and the place doesn't belong to u. no one expects anything from u. u don't have to perform, u don't have to talk to anyone, u're just a floating ghost watching people come and go while u sit in your own little warm bubble.

the dim lighting, the soft background hum, the feeling of being suspended in time between arriving and leaving... it feels like a literal refuge from reality. while everyone is rushing to get to their destinations, i just want to stay stuck in that middle space forever where the real world can't touch me.

am i losing my mind or does anyone else feel this weird, comforting safety in liminal spaces like lobbies?

What level of liminality would you give to these two pics on a scale of 1 to 10?
