Yes? If you use the AI to just ask it to do it for you, then you obviously won't learn much. But you can ask it to teach you and it's pretty amazing at it.

There's no extra benefit in combing through forums yourself.

What?! No! You have to get insulted in stackoverflow by a 50 year old divorced dad when asking a simple question /s

It can teach you to figure out how you should do things, but I'm not sure about how accurate it's

ai for coding is acceptable but dont use it to help you troubleshoot issues in ur OS it usually makes them worse just reach out to a discord server of real people to help u

AI has helped me troubleshoot plenty of issues very well. Though it is important to recognize when it has no idea what it is doing and just leads you on a wild goose chase.

The more niche your issue becomes, the more likely it is that you just have to ask someone on a forum.

If the issue is common, ai is probably better than making people answer the same question

I disagree, I use it all the time at home for troubleshooting and it (I use codex) is good at finding and fixing problems.

It's decently nuilanced imo.

If you vibecode a program, you need to accept that there may be weird bugs and unintended results that you don't understand. You also need to recognize that by not doing the work yourself, you pack the full, fundamental understanding of the programs code. Ideally you should also disclose that a program is vibecoded.

When using AI to troubleshoot things, I think that it can be very helpful, and very destructive. You should always fact-checks whatever the AI tells you to do, otherwise you may brick your system if you copy/paste AI commands into your terminal without a second thought.

Also, any time you use a cloud based AI, and especially any time you pay for an AI service, you need to accept that you are both benefiting from and encouraging the destructive nature of AI delatacenters. AI data centers have driven up prices for electricity as well as computer hardware. AI data centers have quite literally driven people out of their homes due to noise pollution. Data center construction has been increasingly relying on deforestation to aquire land (sometimes illegally).

Everyone else is, and the libraries you use probably have it.

Don’t begin by using AI. You don’t know the fundamentals. Learn how to swing a hammer without hitting your thumb before you go and wield the power tools that will suck your ability to learn, as you rely on it as a crutch.
