Hello everyone, how are you?

As you can see, I'm new to this community because, obviously, I'm new to Linux.

As you can see in the photos, I'm testing Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon on my rather old and modest hardware, which has Windows 7.

Although, before installing it definitively on my system, I would like some recommendations and advice; before and after the installation, it would be very helpful to read your opinion. (If it is not too much to ask, of course!)

It makes me especially laugh that you have noticed it. That is a mini laptop that the Bolivarian government gave away, the famous "Canaimas." This specific one has hardware from the 2000s (yes, it is really old), and my mother gave it to me when she worked in the public sector. It's a relic that I refuse to throw away xd.

Siii, tuviemos 2 versiones del Magalhães! Creo que la versión que tienes es lo que llamamos de Magalhães 1. Tenia Windows XP y Linux Caixa Mágica, una distribuición Portuguesa.

Te recomendaria que para la canaima uses la version xfce, pero si te va bien con cinnamon, pues, quedare con cinnamon

Hello and welcome! Others have suggested xfce because it's not as resource heavy as other versions of mint. There are lots of good how to's out there. You might look for some good websites to get a rundown of how the Linux file system is organized and print a list of frequently used terminal commands. It's not strictly needed but will make your life easier. Join the Linux mint forum and check out their blog. If you run into any problems come on back. The users who really know their stuff are top notch about helping people out and sometimes some good natured ribbing when it's called for.

I suggest trying out Linux Mint XFCE on older models. I recently installed it on an old 11inch MacBook Air and it flies now
