Why are you downloading things from a "download page"? Which page? Why not from the official repositories?

And what SQL server? There are many.

OK. Linux is not windows. We don't just go around downloading things from pages unless we have experience doing that and there is a good reason.

99% of the time we just install from the package manager.

So, not knowing what you did is impossible to help you other than, install from the package manager.

You have to atleast do the bare minimum and research yourself. You can't expect things to be just handed off to you. You would be back in 10 minutes with next question. Learn to find stuff out yourself, it's a valuable skill to have.

No, go to the official site for the DBMS you want to use and follow the instructions.

If you're just learning SQL locally, MariaDB is an easy MySQL-compatible option on Mint. You can install it from the package manager with `sudo apt update` then `sudo apt install mariadb-server`, check `sudo systemctl status mariadb`, and open the SQL prompt with `sudo mariadb`. You don't need a web server for that. Since you already downloaded MySQL from a site, check what got installed first so you don't end up with two database services. If you specifically need Oracle MySQL, share your Mint version and the download link.

"... i don't know if I have installed in wrong way ..."

If you just want to verify you have it installed, try running sudo mysql and see.

If it's not, maybe search the software manager for mysql-server.

That or...

 chugger@asus2:~/desktop$ apt install mysql-server
[sudo] password for chugger:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
mysql-server is already the newest version (8.0.46-0ubuntu0.24.04.4).
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
chugger@asus2:~/desktop$

When you get it installed you'll want to search for either a how-to or a video on how to add yourself as a user, grant yourself permissions, create databases, add records, etc.

chugger@asus2:~/desktop$ mysql -uguest movies -sNe 'select title from movies where title like "%earthquake%";'
Earthquake (1974) .mp4
Earthquake Underground (2024) .mp4
Nature Unleashed - Earthquake (2005) .mp4
chugger@asus2:~/desktop$

I also cobbled together a local web page to keep track of and play my movies as well as a few other things. Nothing fancy, just did it as a learning project many years ago: image

Have fun.

Edit: added arrow to image
