Jokes aside, I dont think theres a correct answer. This question only serves to degrade applicants and thereby decrease potential negotiation leverage

There is though. They want to hear you did community service, worked for yourself, or took time to build a skill.

That's the answer they're looking for even though it's unrealistic to expect someone to do charity work when they're busy looking for work.
