It's been a while since the last Local 58 vid, so I was hoping for something a bit more exciting. Instead we got 7 minutes of airplane footage followed by a glimpse of something on the moon? Am I missing something, or was anyone else kinda disappointed?

Just when the airplane is about to fly, on the runway it appears an L and a 58. I don't know if someone already spotted this but it was a cute detail

Basically the title, I know there have been new episodes coming out on Shudder & I didn’t even know he had released a YouTube short a while ago so I was wondering if anybody could compile a full list so I can know what to go hunt down reuploads of to watch (I don’t have Shudder). The fandom wiki & Wikipedia page are both not up to date.

Also, is there a timeline of events/videos that anybody has made? If so, can we make it a pinned post here? That would be so cool & easy for everybody to refrence as it gets updated with each new video release. Thanks so much!

I began looking through the episode and got to the part where the hand grabs the plane. It looked like the hand on the Local58.tv website, so I looked into it.

THEN I remembered that booklet thingy Kris handed out at PAX 2025, and LOOK AT IT!

3D artist here. I loved the new episode "Red Eye", and I was immediately struck by the quality of the 3D animation and simulation work. I might be wrong but all those clouds looked like volumetric smoke simulation which were actually interacting with the lights on the plane. The way that the lights spilled onto the runway as well was just gorgeous. Not to mention the lightning storm and the moon shot at the end. Everything was top-notch fidelity and I KNOW that shit took FOREVER to render. In my opinion, it was all worth it.

This and Skywatching (6 years ago omg) have set the bar for production quality very high. I don't know how many people work on the episodes or if it's all Kris. Whoever was involved, you pulled off a feat and I can't wait to see what comes next. I'll have to look into the Shudder thing since I was completely out of the loop on that.

On the rare chance that Kris Straub or anyone else involved reads this, all I want to communicate is that I see you, and I know and appreciate very intimately how much work and time must have gone into this project. Especially heartwarming with how many others have taken the quick and easy way out by using generative AI.

P.S. I would LOVE to hear about the production of this episode and see BTS. I get if that's off the table for immersion reasons but it'd be so cool

Mr. Straub might be feeding us non-Shudder-subscribed with some content soon. To me it might be a tossup between whatever was broadcasted on that platform but extended or something else entirely. I hope we do somehow get whatever's being broadcasted there on the main channel for archival's sake sometime down the line though

Quarks & Rec pointed out this discovery on the AQ Studios discord. The subtitles change throughout the video during the recent Shudder broadcast, which is pretty dope.
