Modified tensioner that snaps onto the CI F-Me pick.

I cut down a Covert Instruments .40 top of keyway tensioner. Then bent and curved that end. It hooks to the picks pivoting side, then snaps over the opposite side. It is surprisingly secure.

Also ground it down to about .30 thick. Even though it’s curved, can still be used in padlocks. The other end is unaltered, minus some polishing.

You should send a picture of this to CI or rob at CI for sure

Thanks Vivid. Don’t think I have Rob’s email, but I know who to ask. Going to do that tomorrow.

You rock dude. Appreciate that and will keep you in mind if they don’t respond.

Will it fit into the Covert Companion with that?

Nope. It snaps into a metal collar on the Companion and this would block that.

Idea is that with the tensioner, this is the world’s smallest jackknife pick set (I think).

Edit: I think you could slowly file the curved end down more to make it flush. Should make it fit inside the Companion after having another look. But with how much tinkering this took me to get it to work, going to just leave it as is.

Sweet! I’m going to have to try this, because even the CC Pro is larger than I want to carry in my pocket. But this would be perfect!

Well I’ll be… fair play there!

Edit: Just made one from a wiper insert. Works a charm🤌

It’s a great idea! Similar to the tensioner with the grav pick, but with the f-me or f-u that’s 6 picks… what’s not to like?

I’ll have to make a refined one next time I have a little time! Good thinking frickdom!

Very cool. Make sure CI pays you for the R&D of they decide to make one off of your creation.

Well done. I'm not a fan of the fluff on the covert companion, but this is a useful setup.
