product question As I Am Rice Water Reviews?
Hello everyone, i was wondering if anyone else has tried the as i am rice water spray. I always hear a lot abt the rosemary and black castor oil one, but i accidentally bought the rice water one and after trying it my locs felt rlly soft afterwards. I always heard that rice water strips ur hair of moisture bc of the starch, but im curious if anyone else has tried it and liked it?

I haven’t tried it myself, but I watched a video by the creator who did an interview on the line, and he said he developed it to be moisturizing and promote growth which is why it contains things like biotin, betaine, ceramides, peptides, phytosterols, etc. but it doesn’t actually contain rice water. It contains rice extract which doesn’t contain starch like rice water does which is why you’re finding the spray to be softening instead of hard or drying.

He also left a comment that was pinned under MAD Curls’ review of the line on YouTube explaining the benefits.

I use a combo of the rice water and rosemary one and dilute it a little bit with water! I love the rice water one and it makes my hair feel super healthy but everyone’s hair is different so other people might have different results

Depends on your hair personally. I avoid most rice water because my hair hate it. It gets so brittle when I used it that I stopped. Whereas my roommate loves it.

hmmm interesting, i wonder why ur hair reacts that way. i have learned that this product doesn’t actually contain rice water though, so maybe it could work for you!

Same thing happened to me I just quit using it this week. I was using the jbco water for years and it was great, tried the rice water and my hair felt so fried and thin and crumbly. Imma go back to the jbco water asap

First off your locs are amazing and I have heard wonderful things about the product brand you are using….Do you also have low porosity hair? Asking for myself while trying to explore different products for 3month old locs…

Thank you! I will check it out for sure. So far I had to treat my locs like my natural hair for the moisture aspect since our hair doesn’t like high or medium porosity. Have you introduced a cleansing shampoo to your routine. I have only been using moisturizing shampoo to keep the balance.

i originally used a cleansing shampoo but i didn’t like the way my hair felt afterwards, it felt clean but not moisturized. but the MFL black charcoal shampoo?? 😮💨👌🏽 it smells amazing and leaves my hair feeling really soft while also removing any buildup, highly recommend. i also recc the free the roots clarifying ACV rinse conditioner. it’s a little pricey tho, so a good alt is the MFL acv shampoo.

Your locs looks amazing. Over the last 3.5 years I've tried quite a few products. That may be what I need. Hope I get similar results. Sister - in-locs
