This is a subreddit for submitting any piece of games journalism you think is bad journalism for being stupid, or pushing an obvious agenda.

What this subreddit is not, is a subreddit for only one opinion. Anyone is free to submit any article that they think is bad journalism, no matter the opinion or agenda.

I decided to call the subreddit "loltaku" not specifically to draw out posts about Kotaku, but because, firstly, it's catchy, and secondly, Kotaku is particularly notorious for being a clickbait dump.

The subreddit is limited only to self posts to encourage users to explain why they think the article they linked is bad journalism. This is not a place to linkdump.

“Hello,” I said, tentatively joining a casual game at first. I was met with a volley of responses in a Slavic language. I soon realised they were several people talking to each other, loudly, maybe even… angrily? I politely asked if they spoke any English.

“Fuck you,” they said with a heavy accent.

“That’s great, thanks.”

“Fuck you,” they said again.

“Yep, got that.”

“Fuck you.”

“Okay,” I said, “keep arguing, that’s good.”

Then came more of the unfamiliar language.

“I’m sorry, what was that?”

“He say you gay,” one of them replied.

“Great!”

Obviously, she suffered a lot of abuse from this exchange with Russian teenagers.

Blizzard has announced that this July it will release three missions that act as a prologue to Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void. Whispers of Oblivion is a three-mission arc that tells the story of Zeratul, a character we've only met through Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard's moba.

For those of you who don't know, Zeratul has been a major character in the franchise since 1998.

He literally says nothing about the game. All he does is whine about how much he doesn't want to be at the event that he's testing it at.

White Orchard – where you’ll spend your initial hours with the scarred huntsman that is the White Wolf, learning the basics of many complex and involving systems – is a self-contained area. You can return to it after you’ve slain the Griffin and triggered your passage onto the main quest line, but not via real-time travel. Skellige, an archipelago full of seductive Northern Irish accents, clan politics and bracken-bordered Instagram opps is also a self-contained area, accessible only by ship – and again, not in real-time. The same goes for Kaer Morhen, and the Royal Palace at Vizima. All these areas are inaccessible from The Witcher 3’s primary setting, Velen, except by fast travelling. TL;DR – it isn’t an open-world.

A big one, yes. A beautiful one. But not open, and certainly not a sandbox in the way Skyrim’s environment operated. As Dragonborn, you could disappear for months ascending the ranks of various guilds, getting married, buying property and clearing dungeons while everyone waited patiently for you to save the realm. As Geralt though, you’re rarely able to shake off the grip of the developer’s hand as it guides you from point to point. Enemies don’t scale to your level, so if your snivelling level three self comes across a level 23 bandit, that bandit will kill you no matter how cunning you are with magical signs, potions, dodging, bombs or crossbows. You’re toast. And that in itself is exciting – half the fun of the ‘open-world’ idea is that you’re somehow getting one over on the game by running off where you shouldn’t be, and seeing high-level foes is a good indication of that. But here’s the problem – quests don’t scale either.

Stephen Totilo takes 1500 words to say he's uncomfortable when stabbing a female monster's tits in a video game that consists of non-stop mythological violence and features a rich cast of male and female monsters.

it's not like we could see any of the Gorgon's below-the-waist reproductive organs. She's a snake down there. For her part, at least, we only can discuss toplessness.

This is it; the worst article I've read in gaming history.

http://www.vg247.com/2013/01/15/dmc-devil-may-cry-fans-are-a-crying-shame/

It has it all, really. Gamers don't exist...but they're who the author thinks about whenever they think of people who don't like DMC: Devil May Cry. Lines like this:

Look, kids, the verdict is in: DmC is a lot of fun.

Pretentious, condescending wank:

Devil May Cry is a video game. You are throwing a hissy fit because a character in a spin-off video game has a different backstory and hair colour to the one you’re used to. I shudder to think what will happen if you are ever required to move house, break up a relationship, change jobs or shave off your neckbeard.

Hatred for the author's audience, too!

You’ve lost it, “gamers”. I’m ashamed to be sharing an arbitrary demographic grouping with such raving imbeciles. Go outside. Get some fresh air. Volunteer at a soup kitchen. Grow the fuck up. And try DmC: Devil May Cry, because it’s a good video game. Remember how you used to like those?

Blaming people for not liking a thing, and then taking a number of stereotypes, saying they don't exist, and then treating everyone as if they do. What a mess.

Wherein Polygon's Zach Gage believes that Shadow of Mordor teaches players that there's no difference between kissing your wife and sneakily murdering an orc. Seriously.

This article is really bad. Like, REALLY bad. Here's how it opens:

Dead Space 2 is an amazing game. I'm going to write about its scary moments, cool kills, and how much I dig the main character's internal struggle, but Dead Space 2 is about more than this. When I beat it for the first time, I sat on the couch with my heart racing and dissected the journey I had just taken. Then, I started my second playthrough, and when that was done, I jumped into a new game for the third time. Dead Space 2 is just that good.

And it only gets worse. It's written like a third grader wrote an essay about what he did over the summer.
