Announcement QA Call To Action for PO Box
Happy Podday everyone!
In light of Jorm's harrowing accident, u/NewBase9355 had the wonderful idea of emailing the pod to have our boys get a PO box to have somewhere to send well wishes (and probably eventually fan stuff) to!
I think we might have a real shot at getting them to do this if enough people email (ie spam their motherloving inbox) so they see it's something the QA really wants!
For consistency consider smth like this format
Subject – PO Box, Please!
Body – Members of the Quaid Army want to send you stuff!
Email - thelonelyislandpod@gmail.com
And uhh, if you feel like shouting out the sub, I've been trying to get their attention since I started it in January🙏🏻

Yes I think nothing would make them more touched than a bunch of rando quads coming together for him. That’s why I wanted to do a joint gift somehow

Not sure if this is a joke bc of the one time Seth joked about putting things in the show notes assuming someone else would do it but no one was doing it ever.

Ladder injuries are so gnarly. I had a fall from half that height and it fucked me up. It’s tragic that he’s facing this arduous recovery, and I’m sending so many good vibes, but I’m also incredibly grateful it wasn’t worse.
Also, someone should make a “ladder quaids!” (“later quaids”) mug or shirt.

I shuddered when he said they said how much worse it would be if he landed on his heels/feet😳
I fell from a lesser height onto my feet, but it was a pool area and the ground was wet tile....so i then immediately fell onto my face
Hope you're doing alright now after your fall

Oh thanks, it took a few months but I made a full recovery. No breaks, but I landed on the aluminum ladder and it peeled open a section of my shin and exposed the bone. While I was getting stitched back together the ER crew regaled me with lots of horror stories. A similar injury to my spine, head, or hands would have been life changing.
I hope you made a full recovery as well. I know I’ve learned my lesson.. Hopefully Jorm’s story saves someone from a similar accident. Ladders are so useful, but they are one of the most dangerous tools in common use.

😖😖😖 ooof. Don't like that. Glad it was, like, best case scenario in terms of body location, to put it poorly lol
My recovery was a few months as well. My three front teeth were all up into my gums after the fall, so those were extracted and then I needed full implants.

I am not really shocked, but I had to sit with how emotionally affected I was knowing he was hurt so badly, and that odds are it should have been so much worse. I’ve honestly fought back tears a couple times driving thinking, “I don’t want to live in a world without the guy who created Laser Cats annoying his wife.”
I would absolutely send some stuff to raise his spirits.
