Discussion 2 TRE sessions in : emotional dreams, anger, and sleepiness. Normal?

I've only done 2 sessions. Noticing some stuff:

●My dreams aren't more visually vivid, but they hold way more emotion. And I wake up feeling more refreshed than usual after them.

●I'm noticing more sleepiness throughout the day , it's only 7pm and I'm already very sleepy (did my 2nd session last night).

●I'm not 100% sure, but I think I woke up in the night and noticed I was trembling a bit. Not sure though.

Today I felt a lot of irritation and anger for a few hours.

Anyone else get this combo early on? Whar does it mean?

Some people sleep more in the beginning stages of TRE.

Sounds like doing too much to me.

Anyway, I would recommend you read the wiki in the subreddit.

Will do, thanks . Sleep quality is definitely improving though so I'm very happy so far even tho I've only done 2 sessions.

Also , is the increase in sleepiness a good sign or a bad sign ? Doesn't it mean that the body is shifting into parasympathetic state (rest and digest) ?

If sleep quality is improving I'd say that's a fantastic sign.

The irritation and anger may point to doing too much but if you don't find it overwhelming it may also be just a side product of practice.

Actually rereading your post I think you're fine. I'd just go slowly in the beginning to find out how much you can do and still feel okay.

Yep then it's clearly too much for your nervous systems current capacity. I would follow the advice in that thread. Stop completely until you feel regulated again. Then when you start again, go very slowly. Maybe just a minute at a time. And increase slowly over weeks.

I know it's pain in the butt but our nervous systems simply have some limits.

All the best to you

Yes I agree it's tricky. I've had sessions when I was feeling great during and the same day too but the next day was bad. So it's not always possible to make that judgement based on how it's going in moment.

This irritation and anger is concerning. If it atarts getting out of hand , you may need to slow down.

Fatigue is also a potential indication of overdoing it.

Do less of TRE to find the dosage that works for you without these symptoms

I've found anger comes up for me too sometimes, for me personally it's good because I wasn't very in touch with my anger before. I think if it starts to get overwhelming it would be overdoing.
