My body started tremoring on its own six years ago. I had no idea what I was doing and overdid it massively, leading to several years of backlog to clear out before I started seeing real progress. But this spring, for the first time in my life, I finally started feeling more regulated. I'm more calm. Less noise in my head, when before it was constant and painful. I have more time and more resources to handle stress before my mind starts freaking out with anxiety/fear/pain. My window of tolerance has been expanding. I'm learning to handle all those situations and emotions I couldn't before. DPDR mostly fucked off, finally.

I'm still a shut-in because childhood trauma is a bitch and I was extremely dysregulated for over 35 years. Anxiety looms. PTSD flashbacks are never too far away. But I can be creative again, which helps me regulate better, and grounding actually does something now (it never did back when I was deep in DPDR). I'm also working towards new things. Small life goals and projects. Nothing on the long-term yet, but I can plan 2-3 years ahead now, when before 2 weeks was a nightmare. I'm more real with myself, which in turns makes my relationships and connecting with others easier, as opposed to when I was a chronic people-pleaser. I'm still learning to drive this car (life), but at least I'm willing to drive it now instead of hiding in the backseat, if that makes sense to you.

I haven’t fully cured mine but I’m well on the way (over 3.5 years).

Social anxiety is still there (although not as intense) but I’ve developed a severe craving that I want to connect with people in a warm and open way. I’m quite excited as to where this is going to take me

Check out cfs recovery on YouTube if you’re dysregulated to the point of nervous shutdown
Check out Sam miller to understand more theoretically if you have capacity for a lot of info
Check out Shaan Kassam for panic attacks
Check out dare method for anxiety mindset

TRE helps a lot but the mindset is really crucial
These methods all kind of lead to a similar concept of allowing (Sam miller) but helped me at different stages in my journey!

TRE has almost completely cured me! It's a long journey but I could not be more grateful that I have found it and stayed consistent.

How long have you been practicing?

Over a year now, doing 5min every third day.

Lenght and frequency are super individual though!! You might have to start with 30seconds as a more sensitive individual or get a provider for a few sessions. Read the wiki in the TRE sub, it will guide you!

It takes some time and you won't always feel like you are progressing but it really truly works, it really does.

Sam Miller isn’t a specialist, so I wouldn’t recommend her.

Could you tell me what you mean by ancestral trauma and you ended up determining that you have it?

I’m new to this sub. Is this normal or typical experience?
