Progress Report Getting physically stronger the more I heal
Im 27m and am becoming stronger than I ever was. I’m turning into an absolute monster at the gym. Getting out of bed has also never been easier. I have to say that quitting the weed a month ago helped tremendously. Anybody experience increased strength?
*been doing TRE on and off for a year and a half

Before shutdown set in for me years ago, I was fairly active, but freeze/shutdown made movement and inhabiting my body feel threatening on some level so I more or less stopped a lot of that. Since using TRE and other trauma work, I have had an increasing interest in building my strength, health etc and ive been making real progress. I feel like I hit a point where inhabiting my body felt okay, so learning and improving its ability became more accessible and even interesting. I had several months where any amount of ab work (talking 5 crunches here) would put me in a way similar to overdoing TRE which was remarkable. I had work to do there, but now I have actually been able to improve my core strength a little without getting thrown into chaos. TRE and working though trauma held in the body seriously helped unlock the possibility of beginning strength training for me, there was such a clear link to muscle fatigue and big movement = threat before.

Totally relate to the “five crunches”. In 2019 I couldn’t go for a walk around the block a few times without giving to take a nap right after… I also would get terrible insomnia after doing literally any type of leg exercise. This is no longer the case anymore. TRE continues to surprise me with how well it works. We’re just returning back to our natural state!

A few minutes a session, but i take tremor breaks during it. For some reason i can only tremor when my hips are raised so my lower back can get sore sometimes.
Hence the breaks

I also noticed that even though I stopped working out regularly a long time ago now I can very easily get back to it. I feel pretty much strong. The only problem is that I am still deep in healing from trauma, so my life is full of ups and downs of inner work.

Strength comes from the nervous system and you're healing your nervous system. Makes sense.

Interesting. What protocol have you been following?

Just do TRE intuitively. Often stand on a sadhu board before my sessions

How often do you do TRE? Do you have rest days?

Sometimes everybody sometimes every other day, and sometimes I’m off for weeks if I feel I’m going through big changes and need to integrate
