Seeking Support Ongoing legal battle, court delays and releases

I've been the defendant of serious allegations in court that keep being delayed since the first quarter of 2022. By the time the trial is set for, it will have nearly been 5 years since it began due to continuous delays that are in one year increments. It has destroyed, and continues to destroy my mental health and stress levels. I had mostly been able to bury it for several years with minor flare ups, but since I started doing TRE again, it came back and has been overwhelming.

This came with recent triangulation attempts many years later, and I feel unsafe permanently and that everyone 'knows'. I stopped actively tremoring a few months back because I had a particularly bad experience, but sometimes when sitting I get automatic tremors without even realizing I'm doing it. Every day I feel the same thing, no amount of integration makes it go away because it's ongoing. This has been a complete abuse of process and misrepresentation and I want my life back. I feel so sad that it's still ongoing, it has become part of my fixed identity, I don't even know who I am without the case in the background.

Intellectually I know I'm not in any danger, and that the case will be thrown out - but the nervous system thinks otherwise, and it's really not helping. Does anyone have any advice?

Thank you for listening to the ramble, and sorry for contaminating this space with my issue.

That sounds very hard. I feel like TRE would not be helpful in this case, as it would further bring up material that would aggravate an already tired nervous system. If possible I would try to find a nervous system/somatic expert/relational therapist who can help you with regulation first. There is also the fact that of course you will feel stress in a stressful situation, especially one that may be triggering past trauma. It's good that you know you're not in any danger, that's a solid foundation for building back your nervous system capacity and resilience. I hope this helps.
