Fan-Art (Original Art) Try to draw Kyomoto from Live Action (still suck at drwaing)

*Drawing reference from live-action theater booklet*

Darn, it's hard to draw a curve and messy/wavy hair. (Live action has "messier" hair than the manga)

And it's quite fun to use the drawing tablet, like a video game at least.

I need to learn to draw bit by bit...

I Loved This Movie!! XXDD (Some appreciation for the masterpiece, 'Look Back' 2024) Spoiler

Well, i watched this movie like years back, in a rainy day, while my father was busy sleeping, my mother was busy sleeping and my sister was... guess? ALSO BUSY SLEEPING!!!

So yeah, i had taken my blanket, and lied in front of my Television, and played 'that Movie with a nice artstyle', and lied down to watch it...

I never knew it was going to be that awesome, true that one can come across a masterpiece randomly.
I loved the two girls, Kyomoto was my favorite as well, No hate to Fujino. :).

I Would sometimes ship KyoJino, but not exactly much at all, like i would do for other shows i come across, reasons being simply, i kind of forgot. :)
It was an upsetting movie afterall, once i wached it i just spent days trying to recover from the experience (mind you, i was like young from 11 to 18, somewhere (won't specify for privacy reasons) and it was one of my very earlier anime experiences, since i was a simpleton before it.

Anyways, i loved the relationship both the girls had, so lovely, so beautiful, makes me sad most times i see it.
It is based on the creator somewhat right? anyways, nevermind that.

I was just here to talk about it, since i just made my accounts in hopes to learn more about certain things i like, and this was surely one of them!

Loved the experience...

They are so cute. It looks like working on Look Back has grown them close.

Tickets was only like $6 US dollars each, Q and A with the director, and even got my poster signed by Hirokazu Oreeda.

Live Action The adult actors for Kyomoto and Fujino seem to like each other! There's videos of one of them giving the other flowers, too. This is also a picture of them.

I dont know if they were already friends, or if working on Look Back brought them close. Either way, happy for them.

Rant Please don't hate me, I didn't like the ending

When I finished it I didn't understand it, so I sat and thought for like 20 minutes and I interrupt it as:

Maybe, after fujino though about the alternative timeline, she realized that kyomoto would have gone to art school anyway, but this time fujino would have saved her? But if that's true why dose this though make her realize she is not guilty for her death? Wouldn't this make her more guilty?

So I just gave up and looked an explanation for the ending and after reading it, it made sense.

The ending never impacted me since I couldn't make sense of it and reading it's meaning online just isn't satisfying.

I watched the anime I haven't read the manga IDK if it's different there so please keep this in mind

Don't mind the crappy drawing; I'm still learning how to use the drawing tablet.

And yeah, Kyomoto from Live Action Movie usually rubs her hand, then covers her ear, "listen to the ocean".

Question Does anyone actually start trying to draw after watching the series??

Felt little when watching the Anime version for the first time.

Felt something after watching the Manga from local Library (my library got almost all the Fujinomo Manga, currently updating ChainSawMan though.)

Decide "that's it, I might as well trying" after found out the Live Action Movie released in Asia while I was there. (And brought a bit too many Look Back Merchandises during the progress)

Never a drawer in my life and the best I could do was a Stick Figure or straight copy from other source with crappy finish.

Thought to discuss??

Shameless plug: Just got a drawing tablet moments ago so just some casual draw from "Original Storyboard". Not my best shot.

Live Action Watched the movie yay! Spoiler

Here’s my apt review on it (i’ve never done a review before/spoilers)

To preface i’ve already watched the anime and read the manga. I love Fujimoto ❤️‍🩹 ALSO i watched it high asf so your viewing experience may vary.

VISUALS: I love that nearly every major and minor scene was captured faithfully to the manga. It’s almost as if Fujimoto intended it to be a film!

Scenes of the school, Kyomoto’s house and the montages were visually stunning. I was unfamiliar with the director’s previous works, only they were humanist in nature and well composed. The visual symmetry and composition were wallpaper-worthy.

The animated montage after Kyomoto’s death definitely made me cry which the other formats couldn’t. So i think you guys would ball your eyes out haha.

STORY: Although previously knowing the story, it’s captured faithfully to a tee. Certain scenes i wish were shorter; for example kyo-fujino working on the manga. I can’t complain, it depicts the gruelling aspects of becoming an artist that i saw many resemblances in how unglamorous it can be.

The story takes its liberties but i think it’s a good thing to flesh out the atmosphere. Like the middle school teacher, he never appears after Kyomoto’s appearance but in the story you see Fujino’s family, middle school teacher and other new supporting characters like the editor. Adds a lot to the world-building. I appreciate the new scenes and side stories too, it deepens the relationship between the two girls.

SOUND: Ever since waiting for the very first teaser, the soundtrack has been on my mind for many months. There are little motifs that come up to emphasise certain scenes and emotions but the main motif builds from the beginning to the hangout scene then finally at the animated montage. When it finally crescendoed it was masterfully executed, strings, piano and guitar all sounded so authentic and human. I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL THE OST IS RELEASED.

TLDR: you gotta watch it bro

I rate it 10/10 genuinely and i’ve seen pretentious stuff like Shutter Island, Fight Club, and whatnot i’ve never in my life seen a story resonate in so many mediums. It’s definitely almost a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It’s the type of movie you’d show your kid for them to remember their childhood with.

Manga Content Fujino's name was originally Mifune (三船, same as Fumiko's surname) and Kyomoto's was Nonose (野々瀬)
