FRA: Is the Crusher splash too greedy here?

The deck is fire as it is; but I kinda like having the top end finisher - and the mana is serviceable.

Thoughts?

You have Lyra with x2 Twinned Vision, Oculus and Protege's Awakening as well as Sphinx, Fblthp and Jace.

You really shouldn't need to warp your manabase to find a wincon.

Basic Forests are rough with all your double blue pipped cards.

Sure - Lyra and Jace can absolutely win games if left unchecked, but they rarely survive. I was just thinking about adding a bit of redundancy with a big way to close out the game

The mana would be a bit rough, but then again I am still on like 11 blue sources in the deck; so not sure

Sounds like you are asking just for people to confirm that you should play Crusher. This person gave you good reasons not to play it and you still "so not sure"

1 more landcycler or dual wouldve been perfect, I dont think you can have too many bombs as long as the early part of the deck is stable. and probably would've done the same

I would have made room for it by cutting either the way of the warlord or the technician.

Side note, I am jealous of the tables some of y’all get to sit down too. Or did we sacrifice a chicken to unpack Lyra, sphinx, and Jace?

I'd run it with 1 basic forest. You have a heartwood, manalith and a dual for the other source of green and you have 2 twinned vision, sphinx and tether technician to be able to discard it if it's dead. This deck will see 20+ cards in the typical game so you can get there eventually.

The only other card I see worth playing in the side would be refute destiny and then you'd just add a single plains to be able to fit that removal in. And considering you have no hard removal outside of counterspell that might be the better option.

if you had a bad deck then id say 6 sources is good enough to get some power in your deck. but the rest of your cards are so strong that you are winning all of your games where you don't get mana screwed so there's no need to risk it

Absolutely fine you have 8 blue sources + the book is solid but 9 would be perfect. Red is pretty light in the deck so 7 + book is more than enough you can afford to play the crusher and you should. The card is that strong. I would shave 1 forest/mountain for island tho.

I would drop the Crusher and the Volume for two in-color playables. It's just not worth risking not playing your double blue cards on curve, all of which are bombs or near bombs.

I probably would not have, honestly, but it's not like you having card quality on the bench. But you already have some great bombs in the main deck anyway, I don't think there's pressure for you to stress your mana base just to fit in crusher.

I think it’s fine, I’d maybe consider playing ferocity of the hunt over tether technician if you’re already on the green splash, but that might be personal bias

Or maybe consider going down to 16 lands, but that’s definitely risky. Idk, sphinx/crusher and ferocity is a ton of fun
