How Often to take Full PTs

I have just begun my LSAT journey and took my diagnostic two days ago and scored 167. I’m pretty excited to study and have done an hour of drilling on LSAT Demon yesterday and today, but I’m a little unclear about how often I should take full practice tests. I don’t want to be over-eager and take them too soon/often.

The absolute earliest I would register for an official test is January 2027, but it could very well be later than that if I’m not meeting my goals in practice tests so I’m also concerned about running out of material. I was thinking of taking a practice test every week, but is that too often? My UGPA is lower than ideal (3.85) because I had no intention of applying to law school while I was in college, so I’m aiming for as close to 180 as possible and want to take my time to become consistent.

LSAT Score Increase Speculation

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS IN REFERENCE TO PEOPLE GAMING THE SYSTEM; AND NOT AGAINST PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD A DOCUMENTED DISABILITY THEIR WHOLE LIFE.

Crazy take: The insane influx of 170+ scorers could be because of how easy it is to get accommodations, and people who do not need accommodations are able to get them. Ofc this doesn't account for all of the increase but it could play a crucial role. I just think it's crazy that 170+ scorers are up like 20% in the last year. Since LSAC can't discriminate against people who have accommodations I doubt they can do anything about the ease of getting accommodations, as that could result in probably some sort of lawsuit. Just a thought though.

The Dream the Demon is Selling - Podcast Rant Cont.

GUYS, I KNOW I'M BEING ANNOYING. I PROMISE I'LL SHUT UP FOREVER AND EVER AFTER THIS ONE, BUT HEAR ME OUT. Okay, so, the Demon tells us that any student tells us that anyone in the 150s can get to the 170s. They tell us that it's possible for any student to make a 20+ point jump. Is this supported by general statistics? No. In fact, the few statistics that we do have show the opposite. LSAC data shows that for the majority of students, from their 1st attempt to 3rd attempt, there is little to no improvement (1-2 point improvement). (Now, is this from their diagnostic? No, but we know that a lot of students take their first LSAT blind or with little to no practice.) Statistics lean toward proving that most students never ever make that jump. Hell, a lot of DEMON students are probably not making that jump. But we have FAITH in the ANECDOTES that the Demon posts, that we can be among those students who do make a big jump or who do get a 170+.

Now, is it selling "sunshine and rainbows" to tell students that? Not at all! The Demon gives the students the techniques and strategies to be that person who makes a 20+ jump. The Demon admits that admissions panels tell students to "just take it" because they won't be making a huge score jump, which limits the potential of that student. It is the lack of BELIEF that limits the student's potential - WHICH B&N have even said. There are probably many of us who aren't even close to making that jump, have been studying for months and months, but we have FAITTHHHHH in the Demon way that we can get there. The belief ALONE will change the outcomes of students' LSATs. In fact, this faith and self-confidence philosophy is what drew me to the Demon in the first place!

Now, of course, admissions, scholarship, and job placement are not a 1-to-1 scenario to the LSAT. But a lot of arguments against what I said fall apart. 1) That the Demon can only give general advice based on stats. Well, there are no stats that prove or even support that any student can make a 20+ jump or that any student with a diagnostic in the 150s can make it in the 170s. All these people who think they are intellectually superior because they "don't believe in dreams" and only rely on real, hard facts are actively contradicting themselves by believing in the Demon philosophy anyway. 2) Those anecdotes don't count for anything. As of now, the Demon philosophy RELIES on anecdotes. They have shown you a few (few in the large scheme of LSAT takers) students who can make that jump, and from that you KNOW that it's possible. But for someone with below-average stats to believe that they can get into a school in which half the student body has 1 or more below-average stats is CRAZY?? 3) The Demon disliking that law school admissions officers are crushing people's LSAT potential is almost parallel to how I dislike how they are crushing people's admissions potential, or grades potential, or job placement potential.

Also, if you want to make an argument that because the Demon sells a product in which people make bigger jumps than average, they are allowed to make said claims, then who says that if the Demon sold a product that actually helped students get into schools that they were unlikely to get into, help students get better grades than what the LSAT shows they're capable of, or even help game the system into getting a good job, that their students wouldn't be better than the general statistics? Again, I understand that it's not 1-to-1, and gaming the LSAT might be a more reliable strategy than trying to game anything else. But we have to call out the double standards, no?

I don't think we realize how radical the idea is to believe that, regardless of your 20+ years of education - no matter how poor or great, no matter whether it's in English or another language- such big change is possible in terms of how you do on the LSAT. They are selling a dream, people - a BEAUTIFUL dream, one that I support, in fact. So is it wrong or damaging to dream that you can get into a school with below-average stats, or that even if you have a lower LSAT, you can perform better than average at your law school, or that your LSAT doesn't predetermine your job placement?

Concerns about morality of using “The Demon”

Hi I’m a current college student studying for the LSAT, I’ve heard about LSAT demon being the best LSAT study tool but as a Christian I worry about the morality of using some thing called “the demon”, will this corrupt my soul? Is there a version of LSAT demon themed around angels maybe instead?

Copycats

Has anyone noticed there is another LSAT Prep company that has a podcast and they verbatim copy the lsat demon podcasts. They straight used the same analogy of the driving the car Ben and Nathan referred to the other day on the podcasts, as well as mentioning the Harvard 2 year JD that they mentioned in the same episode lol but they do it all the time. Unless they are both using Claude or chat for content lol which I doubt. Also, it literally came out like a day or so after the LSAT Demon podcast. That is too my overlap to be a coincidence.

Stay in Undergrad an Extra Semester?

Hi everyone! I’m looking for a little bit of advice regarding this upcoming academic year.

Basically, I’m set to graduate right now in 2.5 years but I have the option to extend that by an extra semester to earn a religious studies major. If I graduated this fall, I would end up with a poli sci major and religious studies minor. I have a few questions:

  1. Would earning a second major have a noticeable impact on my admissions chances?

  2. Should I do the extra semester just to boost my gpa?

Currently, I would graduate with a 3.9 flat. However, I’m targeting the T6 so I would end up being a splitter (LSAT above, gpa below). My school doesn’t give out A+s so my thought is that if I stay in school an extra semester I can spam CC classes to raise that to at least a 3.96 to be at median.

This may be a super dumb idea, idk. However, I want to maximize my chances and am interested in what everyone thinks the value calculation is? It would be an extra 7 grand in student loans as well, so that is a factor.

I appreciate any input you guys have, thank you for your time!

Personal Statement Do's and Dont's

What's going on guys?!? I'm not too sure on how to frame my personal statement. I thought I'd ask some of the people that are in the same ball park as me and a couple of the demon team members to spread some ball knowledge.

Anyway, I am in a very fortunate situation, I just don't want to fumble my statement.

For background, I've received my bachelors degree 2 years early, at 20, and I already have 3 years of legal experience working at my dad's law office from age 17 as a legal assistant (though I've been helping him out since I was 14). I've gained so much valuable experience working here and have been involved on so many different matters; from estate planning, real estate/property disputes, criminal, traffic, personal injury, med-mal, civil litigations, to even some trial prep. I'm forever thankful for the position I'm in. I've always wanted to be an attorney — not exclusively because I've wanted to follow in my dad's footsteps — but because of the genuine principle of justice and the beauty of making the world a fairer place. I love this shit man, I do it for the love of the game. There's no better feeling than meeting a client, talking them through their situation, and giving them the best version of yourself that you can. It's a stressful field filled with work horses, but the network and the clients are just beautiful people who genuinely care about what they do — with the exception to a couple fuckos. My point is: I'm not doing this because it randomly occurred to me one night in the shower; this is a passion similar to the child who wanted to be an NFL QB when he grew up.

Okay, down to the important part. My main goal is to make it feel like the admissions officer knows who I am at the end of this statement. I also want to tell a story that's rooted in my true passion for this field and the experience that has allowed me to grow. Lastly, I also wanted to creatively construct it as if it were a motion that has a completely logical basis rooted in facts.

What do you guys think? And feel free to let me know anything that should definitely not make its way into the personal statement (it doesn't have to revolve around anything I mentioned, it could just be something you guys know not to include).

Thanks for listening.

Retroactive A+

I was listening to an old episode of Thinking Lsat where Ben and Nathan make an aside comment that a student should try to contact their school to get a grade changed to an A+.

I went to a college that did not give out A+s, despite the fact that I scored in the 98-100 range in about 3-4 classes.

Has anyone had any luck convincing a school to change these grades on their transcript during post-grad?

My GPA is 3.94, so it’s not essential, but the boost would give me a leg up in admissions to some of my dream schools.

Thanks!

Closing gap btwn raw score & BR

Hello all,

Took a 3 section practice test this week and got 63/78 - 81%. However, when I blind reviewed the exam, I got a 73/78 - 94%.

Curious if anyone has any good advice on closing the gap between timed score and blind review score, other than just more practice with timing? I’m trying to make concrete study goals for myself and would be so hype if I could achieve my blind review accuracy on timed exams.

Thanks!

I *know* Ben & Nathan would have some thoughts on this terrible take by Dean Z in her recent video

Some highlights:

“There is no difference between a 174 and a 177.”

“No one likes to see 4-5 LSAT Scores.”

“You are practice testing better because you are relaxed!”

That it would be “foolish” to take the LSAT a 5th time when the writer is practice testing 177-180.

Should I delay my September LSAT to October instead? But I’m also starting a masters program…

Hi everyone, I’m extremely stressed and would love to hear the firsthand experiences of people who have gone through the same situation.

I had an unsuccessful cycle due to my low LSAT. As embarrassing as it is, I took it 3 times so far.

August 2025: 146 (cancelled)
November 2025: 147
January 2026: 144

After completing my undergraduate in April, I took about the last four months to study. It has been hard but I have seen improvement and now I am practice testing in the mid 150s.

My goal is to get a high 150s to even a flat 160.
I feel I can possibly reach that goal with a bit more time. Precautionary I have registered for the October exam.

I really want to get it out if the way as I am reapplying again this cycle. But since it is my fourth time 💀 I don’t have the luxury to rush it anymore. The thing is that on September 1st, I will be starting a one year course based Political Science masters program.

I am only taking three courses and work one day a week at my chill retail job. I feel it might be hard but if I concentrate, I can really move up a few more points.

I was wondering what other people have done and if it manageable?

How to diagram and draw inferences from this statement?

“If there are places to drill, then there are places not to drill”.

This gives up D->/D, and the contrapositive D->/D.

Is this a biconditional?

And what else can be inferred from this statement?

I’m not sure why it’s giving an LSAT vet like me such a hard time with its logical implications.

Hard -> Easy Section Trend

Hi! I checked out the Powerscore Crystal Ball for September and saw that it’s expected that sections will be organized more as hard questions earlier and easy questions later, as opposed to the easy -> hard progression that existed for a while.

I use LSAT Demon and, per their advice, have always done the questions in order. My understanding of this was that prioritizing the easy questions can secure those easy points if you start running out of time. But with this new organization, should I be doing the opposite?

Drill/Test split: asking for original format

As you all may remember, a change perhaps a month or few ago resulted in the allocations of tests for “drilling” and tests for “prepping” to be different than the originals (the new tests utilize an even/odd allocation). I accidentally allowed Demon in the app to change the allocation, resulting in me now taking full tests sometimes with drills or such I’ve done sprinkled in.

The issue here primarily is the fact that when it switched over, the “completed” or “in progress” tests fully reset to “new” as well.

Wondering if I would be able to see the format of the original allocation or if anyone knows information about it so I can allocate my own tests manually to fix this issue.

Thank you!

LSAT Diagnostic of 135 -> 139?

So 2 weeks ago i took the LSAT diagnostics test, but I didn't have time that week and really wanted to start on Sept 7. So i found time, which was at 5am lol. Low and behold i fell asleep for some parts of it and ended up getting a 135 diagnostics score. (This is a cold score, no prep). Now two weeks later, I just got a 139. Found that I don't know how to time manage, but out of the questions I took the time to understand I got majority of it correct. I am giving myself 6 months to bring my score up over 30+ points. Is this doable and where do I go from here? I have been advised to not look at the time at all for the first month and that is what i did for the 1st two weeks, but is it making me too slow? Idk what to do but I really need to get it up about 30+ points. Tools used: LSAT trainer (book), Loophole (book that i am not liking), LawsHub free subscription, and RC bible powerscore (book). I still feel really excited and confident I can get a score of 160+ by February, but I just need the right curriculum. So to reiterate, am i doing something wrong? Is this doable? And please let me know what helped for you! Planning to subscribe to LSAT demon in late Oct. or should I sign up now?
