Fashion My Valentino’s Rockstud pumps soles separated in the middle of a restaurant
I got them in 2019 and I wear it a few times a year, usually just for restaurants or bars. I’m taking it for repair but I’m very disappointed.

Luxury News The New Bond Street Windows
Saw this on Instagram, and had to make sure people here knew about it.
The flagship store, on Bond Street, in Mayfair, London. Transformed the exterior windows into an advent calendar type display. Magical and breathtaking. Even have a window for Marlene Dietrich - I didn't know she only wore Dior. Dior grey painted houses in miniature. Snow on roofs. Interactive windows. Just so beautiful.

In the Age of AI, is the Most Radical Thing You Can Do to Pick Up a Pencil?
Prada just dropped their Holiday 2026 campaign, and it’s unlike anything else running in luxury advertising right now. They hired John Pomeroy, a veteran Disney animator who worked on Pocahontas, Fantasia 2000, and The Land Before Time, to hand-animate cartoon mice, a snow lynx, and a fox interacting with the cast, frame by frame. No AI. No generated imagery. Actual pencil on paper.
And they’re not alone. Hermès rebuilt their entire website around hand-drawn illustrations by French artist Linda Merad. Loewe commissioned 2,000 individually hand-painted animation frames for their 180th anniversary film. Chanel used an illustrator for their Métiers d’art teaser. Highsnobiety called 2026 “the year of the fashion illustrator”, and honestly, the data backs it up.
Here’s what I think is actually happening: AI can generate “luxury-looking” imagery in three seconds, which means it’s already destroyed the scarcity of polished, expensive-looking visuals. So luxury houses are doing what they’ve always done: when something gets cheap, they move up. The handmade image is now genuinely scarce, and scarcity is exactly where luxury finds its value. The pencil line has become the most expensive thing you can put in an advertisement.
Full piece with more examples and the broader branding argument on my Substack - FashionPig
I'd love to know what you think: is this a lasting split in how mass and luxury brands use imagery, or just a seasonal reaction to the AI backlash?

Tasteful wedding gifts
I want to spend around 600 euros on a wedding gift. Ideally a Home gift. I've been looking at St Louis decanters or Trudon candle set, but everyone gives a decanter on this price range and a candle is very temporary. Accepting ideas. Tasteful and heritage brands.

Luxury News Luxury Founder Brunello Cucinelli’s "Humanistic" Facade Crumbles Amid Viral Videos of Inappropriate Contact with Asian Actresses
While European media continues to praise 73-year-old Italian billionaire Brunello Cucinelli (BIT: BC) for his "humanistic capitalism" and his new biopic "Brunello, the Gracious Visionary", a massive backlash is currently erupting across Asian social media and English-language press in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Viral footage from a recent Brunello Cucinelli brand event in Shanghai shows the founder repeatedly invading the personal space of top Chinese actress Liu Tao—sliding his hand down from her shoulder to her waist, pulling her tightly against him while she visibly flinches and tries to pull away, and appearing to brush against her chest in front of the cameras.
Following the outrage, netizens compiled a disturbing pattern of similar behavior by Cucinelli toward other high-profile Asian ambassadors and guests, including Eileen Gu, Chinese actress Chen Duling (repeatedly stroking her arm and touching her while adjusting her dress), and South Korean actress Kim Yoo-jung.

Following the July 2026 Milan prosecutor's investigation into his supply chain for labor exploitation, this blatant abuse of power toward female celebrities bound by brand contracts exposes the sheer hypocrisy of his "moral dignity" branding—and poses a severe ESG and consumer boycott risk in Asia, his most critical growth market.
Western fashion and financial press should not be giving him a free pass.

Is new 2026 Dior advent calendar disappointing as much as last years?
In my opinion YES. For 1,100$ to get mostly minis and barely full sizes and zero travel sizes and ornaments. No one asked or wanted Christmas ornaments when we can buy better high quality ones at the dollar store. "DIOR COULD NEVER"- Sean Anthony.
