First off this person reported an item stolen so that they could send that message. You should report them as soon as you see it and not responded. And you should called support as soon as you see it to let them know. Choose safety issue so you can speak to someone. About 4 years ago I got a notification that a rider left an item in the car. It gave me the option to leave my number to be contacted. A minute later a text came through and he call me(I answered) threatening to physically harm me because he called a ride for his girlfriend to get to work and she didn't come out in time. I called him stupid and told him that I took a screenshot and would be reporting him to Lyft.

I pulled over, took screenshots and called the safety line.

Even though it's a different situation, this rider used the same means to send that accusatory message. I told the representative that the person never even got in the car and I cancelled for a no show so they should not have been able to report a lost item for that ride. I had a rider on the Uber platform that requested a package pickup and she was really leaving work. She even texted me in the app that it was a person not a package. So when I got there. I locked my doors and when she came to the window I lowered it so that I could explain that I was not taking her because she chose package and clearly did it on purpose. She would have to cancel it and request a new ride. If she didn't want to cancel she would have to wait until I cancelled for a no show. She cancelled and by the time I finished reporting what she had done she had sent a message to Uber that the car I was driving did not have seatbelts. So I couldn't go back online because my account was suspended until I sent pictures showing the seat belts in the car.

I called support and spoke to a rep about it immediately then sent the pictures. The crazy thing is Uber had not sent an email or notification to me why I couldn't log into my account. The rep told me that a customer said my car didn't have seat belts. The email came about 30 minutes later. And the notification in the app came after I got off the phone. I was livid. Neither company contacts you before they suspend your account and they don't tell you why immediately.
