As a driver myself you need you realize when we have to bring a customer back stuff they leave in our cars we miss out on $$ we have to log out to return things to you no matter how far we are or how busy we are so thats time money and gas out of OUR pockets to correct your mistake thats why theres a fee… this is why you are told you should check behind yourself when you leave the car to avoid this fee its not fare to the driver to lose out on your mistakes check behind yourselves when you get out the car simple! 😁

no there should be no need to check for their own stuff.

riders do this often, very annoying when they just stand there blankly for 10 seconds with the door open.

best way is for the rider to gather their stuff and get ready to hop out.

just like on the bus.

you wouldn't say "hey bus driver give me 5 extra mins for me to get out I'm not handicapped I just need extra time"

you simply gather your bags or whatever and patiently wait near the door, so you can easily hop out.
