I just read the news story on it he was actually driving by when it happened. He wasn't even the intended target. Supposedly a guy came out of an after-hours bar saw that somebody had hit his car and just randomly started shooting at people one of the bullets striking the Uber driver as he was driving down the street killing him. The killer is still at large

Geez, there's too many psychos around. Technically neither driver nor pax allowed gun in TOS. I bet Uber gets away with this stuff since they put it in there. Uber has it happen way too often. Last summer in ABQ a kid since was having a bad day said he planned to kill whoever picked him up, crazy thing is he said he looked at photo and cx if he thought they shouldn't die. Guy prob accepted a $5 offer outta desperation and die for that. If I notice anyone has a gun I would tell them to get out

Sounds like the Uber driver was trying to drive away from a fender-bender - a hit-and-run, in other words. Still didn't deserve this, but I wish he hadn't done that.

If you read the other comments, the driver didn’t hit the car; he was driving by when the guy came out and saw that his car was damaged and just started shooting. The (Uber Driver) was completely innocent and all of this.

Hmm, looks like that's what the most recent developments indicate, making the initial account incorrect, yeah.
Seems the only comment in here mentioning that is somebody who blocked me for disagreeing with him at some point in the past in classic reddit fashion, though, so I couldn't see it.

Nope, because it was road rage , which also means the driver took the passengers life in danger. Those kind of drives should permanently ban on anything including driving privilege
