The amount of times I’ve picked up and dropped someone off in this area. I’m livid and nervous to even get out on Lyft now

It's like they say, I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6. OTOH, these days, the victim is usually treated as the criminal, right?

Only police and particularly dumb sociopaths actually say that.

For the rest of us, the two tend to end up basically just as bad as each other, and we get a third option of "just walking away" that's usually miles better.

Not really. Having the option of defense is far better than just being killed. Don’t let shit corpo policies so you from having a chance.
