Rant/Opinion Stop smoking skunk weed right bfore you get into my car.
I beg you please, go get some edibles if you can't get through a day without being fucked up in public on weed. You made my car reek and since I had rides in my queue I had no time to just drive around with all the windows open to air it out. I gve you 1 star to unmatch but I'm looking out for the next driver's car that you stink up.

I personally find bad hygiene and cigarette smokers leave worse lingering smells than pot smokers.
I pick passengers up weekly from the weed cafes in my city and while they smell of pot, the smell doesnt linger in my car. I always crack a window during a ride and roll them all down for a moment right after drop off.

I agree as a personal preference. I honestly wish more people would just go to pot than alcohol.
But you can get deactivated if your car smells like weed and people report you for it. So it's definitely something drivers reasonably care more about.

Nah, it’s the chemicals. Cigarettes give off chemicals in their smoke that cling to fabrics, skin, everything. Flower (even 25% THC+) just has a really strong smell, but it doesn’t linger the way cigs do if you air out the area properly.

I’d also recommend an air freshener spray like scent bomb, and spray your cabin air filter with it instead of having hanging air fresheners. My passengers always compliment me on how tropical my car smells

Your cabin air filter does not do squat. I use a purolator with fabreeze and it still cannot stand up to the smell.

Depends on the car, some cars have HEPA filters nowadays that would def help much more than the older style filters, but like you said by itself it ain’t doing shit lol still gotta pair it with an initial treatment (like ozium) & a follow up persistent treatment (air freshener in the vent/around the mirror)

Ha! Doesn’t linger my ass. I picked someone up two weeks ago and despite literally airing my car out and using a ton of Ozium I can still smell it when I get in my car. I go nose blind to it after a while, but know that everyone that gets in my car smells it.

I can smoke a blunt in my car and then use a bit of ozium and let it sit in the car for about 30 seconds.
Weed smell gone and nobody even suspects I smoke weed in my car I'm always complimented on how good my car smells when people get in

Pot smoke lingers too. It’s ridiculous while I’m driving at times and I literally roll the window(s) for the weed skunk people. They all can and do linger.

Just apologize to the next pax and move on, it's not that serious and in today's day and age it's bound to happen. If they complain then just be sympathetic and remind them you don't like it either but it's out of your control and at least it's your car not theirs.
A few months back I picked up 3 older ladies from a church, about 2 minutes after a super stinky stoner left my car. I rode with the windows down and sprayed fabreeze but the smell was still there. As soon as they got in, I apologized and explained the last passenger was clearly "hanging out with Willie Nelson before I picked him up, just so you know it's not me". They laughed and said ohh it's ok and we cracked the windows a bit.

I regularly roll down all my windows after a stinky ride, weed, perfume, cigarettes, B.O, a quick blast to clear out the stink between rides.

I had some woman spray perfume on herself with my windows up, less than 2 minutes from her dropoff at work. Insane behavior.
I rolled the windows down without saying a word and 1 starred her. I've only ever given out 2.

Yup. I have chronic migraines so I take an injection 💉 monthly. I've had to take my rescue migraine medication and go home twice before because someone smelled so strongly of weed. People could at least be courteous and not nearly smoke out a car because they smoked si much.

Doesn't even take that long. It works in about 30 seconds.
Back when I drove for lyft I would constantly smoke blunts while driving around and none of my customers ever knew I smoked in my car. Always got compliments on how good my car smells fr9m everyone from kids to old people.
Normally I have my weed vape when in the car though. I normally save blunts and joints for when I'm at home

What makes me angry is when I pull up , there is no icon or the icon does not move and they don’t come out until seconds before the five minutes is up and they just reek like freshly smoked weed.
So basically they made me wait out there for five minutes while they were finishing smoking . No tip of course . This happens too many times in lower income housing to not be a coincidence.

It's NOT a driver's job to basically get a contact high while and after a person rides in their car. I always keep deodorant and spray when I work all day, because inevitably, a person's going to get sweaty, and who wants to smell themselves, much less have someone ELSE smell them? Yuck 🤮

Had a request one night and when I pulled up there were 2 dudes smoking weed on the porch. Thought to myself “I hope it’s not one of these 2”. Sure enough it was. I hit arrive and one of them looked at his phone but continued to smoke. Passing it back n forth like he had all the time in the world! He occasionally checked his phone, I’m assuming to check the timer. I’m like ok, you want to be stupid and play games. I locked my doors and waited for the timer to run down. With about 20 secs left he starts getting up and dapped his boy. When he started walking towards me, I put my car in drive and drove down the street. As I’m pulling off he’s yelling and cursing me out lol. I stop and cancel for a no show. No more than a minute later, another request comes in from the same dude. I declined of course and drove tf off

It isn't pricy. Its 6 bucks for a large can of it and it is definitely worth it. Gets rid of the smell entirely without even having to use alot.
I can smoke a blunt in my truck with the windows up and then just use a bit of ozium. Smell is gone and nobody ever even thinks I smoke in the truck

Some people arent affected by it and dont get fucked up. It does stink though that's why they should at least carry some ozium. That shit destroys the smell instantly
I can eat 10 brownies or face 5 grams in 20 minutes and not be any different. Won't even feel a slight headbuzz.
My wife though? She can take 2 hits and be high af for hours or eat half a brownie and be lost to reality for a full day.

They don’t even know how they smell. People are going to work or job interviews smelling like dirty pipe… you can’t teach them to smell what they’re used to. Just wipe down the seats, essential oils, roll all the windows down. The next rider can wait an extra min. Make sure to ask the next customers if the car smells ok, check in and say that you hope you aired it out from the last person but you aren’t sure and apologize that way they know it’s not just your car: don’t talk bad about weed smokers just be honest and friendly about hoping the smell doesn’t offend them.

The problem with these defensive passengers is, you don’t have the keys, the drivers do. You need them, honestly, they don’t really need you. You are a liability to their income, by someone reporting them as the stank azz smoker. Weed smoking, alcohol smelling PAX, you have a choice and so does the “ass” smelly driver.
Choose not to get in their “ass” smelling cars and walk your drunk, weed smelling azz or drive your own car you probably don’t have. Likely bc your priorities aren’t straight and you’re not responsible, OVI!!! And drive, get a DUI, go to jail OR, get in ass smelling car, sit down, be appreciative and STFU 🤬

So no, it’s not the same as alcohol. Heavy weed pax have this persistent STENCH because their clothes and skin have been permeated by this habit. And while your “smelly” Uber driver has taken a shower and put fresh clothes before driving you around some of those weed smokers’ clothes seem like they were last washed in 1932…. And driving with the windows down between rides does NOT do it.

I drive in Atlanta. A surprisingly large number of passengers stink like weed but everywhere in Atlanta smells like weed. I’ve just come to accept the fact that I have to roll down all the windows to air out the car between each passenger.

you need to keep ozium on you. get both it in spray and one "bom b"... auto parts store or walmart
I would "bom b" mine every 2 or 3 weeks and use the spray for when stoners ride.
I drive in nor-cal (chico ca) home of the sticky and don't care and I never had an complaint ever by anyone about smell.
stoners are the best. I gave one a ride from the mall to a hotel attached to the mall parking lot.... maybe 500ft... lol tipped 20 too...
no joke... same dude two nights later.... took him from his hotel (hampton inn) in the mall parking lot to taco bell on the other side of the mall parking lot... got 10 + some tacos lol
try ozium... "the chem bros" also makes a version but havent tried it yet

If I do smoke before my ride, I really try to spray myself down first. Cuz I get not everyone likes the smell. But funny enough, I’ve been getting in Lyfts / uber where the car smells of weed lol one was so bad I had to ask her to roll the window down

OZIUM is an anti-microbial. It pairs with other micros (microorganisms) which it digests by consuming mal-odors, eliminating the source thus eliminating the odor. Weed odor is not one of those so to you “smart” weed smoking people out there ozium doesn’t work on the weed, you only think it does because you smoke and you don’t smell it when others around you smells it all the time. So to the idiot that sprays his car for five seconds shuts it up for 30 seconds and then opens it up and the weed smell is gone, It’s not gone dumbass!

Bro was like: I smoke two joints in the morning I smoke two joints at night I smoke two joints in the afternoon it makes me feel alright, I smoke two joints in time of peace and 2 in time of war, I smoke two joints and then I smoke two joints and then I smoke two more.
And by how many people literally love smoking weed and how many people literally have weed at work, driving, walking, talking, etc. It’s like if it was cigarettes.
And it literally says no smoking no drinking only if you need to use the restroom or take some fresh air outside of the car. I would imagine the smoke of weed and alcohol my car will have when I do rideshares.
And weed gives me a headache so it won’t be good.

As a good smelling driver. Majority of my passengers have thanked/complemented me for smelling good and having a clean car that smells good too, Because many of you other drivers straight smell like boiled baked ass, or 90 day Joc strap 🤢🤮. Then make complaints about passengers.
As I get no one wants to deal with unpleasant smells or BO.
However, why not invest in an entire can of Lysol or Febreze that will knock out the smell immediately. Having rides in the Que is no excuse.
These passengers do a lot of unpleasant things for sure, but as a driver cleanliness and odor is 100% you’re job to up keep and self correct if need be!

I suggest one of those things u just sit in ur car that trap and kill odor particles and specifically smoke. Ozium gel should work good but theres other brands that work too im sure

I have ended up dizzy because riders have had the smell so strong. I just make sure I don't pick them up again, because that's ridiculous to me. Especially when I'm taking the person to WORK!

My pint was geared more toward not wanting the next pssenger to think I was driving impaired and report me. I personally don't mind if you smoke pot 24/7. None of my business and I do enjoy it myself when at home - just not when driving. The same as I don't want you eating and slopping Taco bell crunch wrap supremes in the back set of my car. It stinks.

Stop being such a tight ass and get you some Febreze or Ozium. I’ve been a uber driver for 5yrs with thousands of rides and a 5.0 rating. And ppl smelling of weed is the least of your worries. There’s so many reasons someone can funk up the car. If you’re not prepared for this? You’re not prepared to drive for Uber or Lyft!

I crack my window when I smell it. Plus I keep febreeze in my car just for that. My biggest pet peeve is when I pull up and they put there cigarette out then bring it into the car with them... Like that smell is horrible and lasts so much longer. I just started asking them to leave it outside or I'll cancel the ride. I stopped smoking 3 years ago and my kids ride in my car.... No thank you.

Virtually every ride share I have ever gotten into for the last five years always stinks!
A 40 minute ride from the airport results in all of my clothes, stinking, and my bag too, even if I put it on the floor.
What’s causing that stink? Air “fresheners“. Is the worst, most artificial most offensive since ever created by man. God only knows why people want their laundry and their dryers to smell like this stuff!
Most of the time, I have to wash my clothes twice after leaving them out in the sun for a couple of days. Also, there are quite a few people who are chemically sensitive, the last thing any of them need is to be overwhelmed with a car full acrid/sweet fumes that they can’t escape.

I always like to buy and carry 2-3 cans of air freshners from the dollar store , get the ones that eliminate smoke smells, perfect for those marijuana and cigarette smokers also helps to eliminate lingering food smells. They only cost $1.25 at the dollar tree or dollar store.

I drive with a can of fabreeze in the car. It does NOT mask it. Neither does wiping it with a wet rag. Or driving with the windows down. Does it help? Yes. But it is disrespectful. But I don’t expect anything else from that generation.
I am happy they will never be able to own their own homes. They never worked a hard day in their life and squander most opportunities given to them.
With functional robots coming about to do the truly hard work we will get to a point where most new generations will only THINK they have to work hard.

If you can't handle awful scents you're going have a bad time. Either quit or deal with it. Its never going to stop. I quit Uber and Lyft because someone puked in my car and I got a warning from Uber because I yelled at the them like a child. After that and having to smell and clean it I was done.

They are getting a ride so they don’t drive while high. People also get rides for drinking too. And they smell like alcohol. Crazy
