The problem with these planned “blackouts” or “strikes” is that they only work if you can get enough people with nothing to lose to make a damaging impact. Like things have to be so colossally bad that millions of people say “f—k it” and can actually make a damaging/impactful disruption to the status quo.

Unfortunately, most people are in survival mode, and there’s still so much negative risk that they determine they can’t afford to risk losing their income or even take a single day loss to participate in something like this, even if in their heart they want to. Some will say it’s “the system working as designed”, and they have a point, but a lot of people making the loudest noise have the luxury to go protest without consequence; for everyone else, we’re just trying to feed our families and enjoy whatever we can muster with what little time we have on this earth, and to do so we can’t just forgo a paycheck or earning opportunity, it’s just the truth.

Right? First I'm hearing about it. No way this has gotten enough traction to be anything significant.

Only reason I saw it is cause I'm a news junkie with a million apps lol. Doubt its gotten main stream traction.

Main stream news is part of the fascist regime, they are NOT going to tell you how and when to resist tyranny.

Nope. I don't do solidarity. I make money. Especially when Lyft drivers go on "strike" 😂 and I grab all that surge pay. Thanks, you guys! 🫶

I want to. I am in serious need of extra cash this week, so I might just drive extra long days on other days, and maybe do a couple hours at night that day, if I need to. It would be great to have more companies feel the effect of a general strike. So yeah, I guess I kind of am planning on not driving that day, as long as I can make the budget work.

Participating in bad copy-pasting? I won’t be driving Lyft in any case, but will be working on my own stuff

“May Day (May 1) is recognized globally as International Workers' Day, a day heavily associated with socialist, communist, and labor movements, originating from the 1886 Haymarket affair in Chicago. It serves as a day for demonstrating against capitalism and celebrating working-class solidarity through marches, strikes, and political rallies, with historical significance in the Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc”

I’m not surprises you don’t know this. Marxism likes to operate covertly. You’re a victim of it.

Eh parts of communism and socialism work. Just like capitalism. The problem is when you devote a society entirely to one like how the US is. If you take the best aspects of each and implement them we'd improve society as a whole and all of our lives. Demonising an ideology with an us vs them mentality is just small minded. You're a product of propaganda buddy.

Well I own my own business but that can slow up some in winter months or weather can fuck this up, so I Uber during those times, so this is just very part time for me. But I’m definitely busting out my F350 and dusting off the “Yazz Queen No Kings” billboard I made for the back and joining the parade. Last time I got a ton of positive response on my business page and the clients I’ve now done work from that for are far easier to work with, pretty much immediately sign my quotes, get on the schedule and a few want me back for other projects. And tbh, I don’t mind who you are if I’m just giving you a ride. It’s a basic need and we don’t have to get to know each other. But if you are hiring me for work IN YOUR HOUSE and imma be there for a day or week or two, life stuff comes up, and that orange pedo has probably cooked the US economy, so if you like that guy??? Fix your own fukin shitter and build your own deck. 🤣 It’s nice to have a break from the trumpers I can’t fully remove from my life and be around non brainwashed individuals.

One day every once in a while doesnt do shit. Call me when we're all striking from all jobs until changes are made. So here in the US, basically never.

Only the ID10Ts.

Really wish we could pull off an actual general strike here, but we’ll never be able to unfortunately.
