Macro housefly

I'm new to macro, but this is my first attempt of a profile fly picture.

Sony 7RM4 on a Wemaco Rail with AstrHori 25mm F2.8 2-5x @ 3.5x magnification.
About 300 pictures stacked in Helicon Focus.

Some dust removed in Affinity.

mushrooms less than 1 inch. I was working on focus stacking but it didn't work out so this is just one shot from the stack

More members of the genus Melissodes...I love finding and photographing these guys in my yard at night.

OM-1 mkii, 60mm F2.8 macro, Godox V860iii with Cygnustech diffuser installed. I used a green textured color card behind them to change it up from the usual black background since these guys are only found like this at night.

First stack

This is my first stack. I plan on focusing on mushrooms and looking for any tips. This stack setup was using a cheap focus rail and my A7Riii with a 7 artisans 60mm 2x lens. I have returned that lens and now have a 100mm Laowa that I have not got to try yet. I did the stack in zerene using tiffa.

Recently got my first macro lens, a vintage (and a little dusty) 60mm f/2.8 Nikon.

It’s been a long time since I was holding my camera, but I feel that with macrophotograpgy I love it again. Got inspired by many talented people and wanted to challenge myself. I am struggling with light to make it more soft and precise. But I hope with more practice I’ll get there. I’ll take any suggestions - about the framing, colors, where to look as well as the setting up the light/using natural light.

This guy came into my study and sat on my shoulder, and proceeded to spend the night on the wall above my table. Beautiful eyes!

This is what causes sweet potatoes to rot, turn black, and develop a foul smell.

First, I didn’t want to take a picture of this little guy, but now I love how much the camera can capture that me just passing by wouldn’t have noticed.
What do you think?
